Bushwalks: WHEN THE EAST WIND BLOWS - Spires Range

http://bushwalks.blogspot.com/2015/05/when-east-wind-blows-spires-range.html

Descriptions of various bushwalks, mainly in Tasmania. Search This and Related Blogs. Wednesday, May 20, 2015. WHEN THE EAST WIND BLOWS - Spires Range. Article written for the Tasmanian Tramp No 29, which probably accounts for the style adopted. The walk was to the Spires Range in southwest Tasmania between 5 and 13 February 1990. There are not many tent sites and unfortunately someone, quite recently, had taken upon themselves to cut out and terrace a new one right beside The Font. It looked a muddy...

Descriptions of various bushwalks, mainly in Tasmania. Search This and Related Blogs. Thursday, June 19, 2014. Thursday 19 June 2014. On the eastern shore of the Derwent River the Meehan Range offers quite a number of walks and we decided that the Meehan geocache series would constitute quite a good one as well as allow a swag of caches to be attempted. Tuesday, June 17, 2014. Tuesday 17 June 2014. The walk was just over 8K. Scree above morning tea stop with the bush line on the right. Jubilee and Middle...

Descriptions of various bushwalks, mainly in Tasmania. Search This and Related Blogs. Friday, July 4, 2014. Cathedral Rock via Andersons. Friday 4 July 2014. View along Cathedral ridge to Montagu Thumbs. We were fortunate with the weather being so nice to start with, although cloud moved in and a few very light spot of rain just as we approached Cathedral summit. However soon after arriving on top the sun was back out and it stayed that way for the remainder of the walk. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Welli...

Descriptions of various bushwalks, mainly in Tasmania. Search This and Related Blogs. Tuesday, January 20, 2015. Tuesday 20 January 2015. At the bottom of the track Boronia returns and there is the crossing of the Dobson outflow which soon after joins that from Lake Webster to become the Broad River. The river was flowing strongly and we took the option of not crossing and picked a lovely Boronia dominated mound to have lunch before returning. . To view a photo album click the image below. We did make a ...

Bushbasher: April 2012

http://mattbushwalking.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Thursday, 12 April 2012. Easter at Mt Feathertop. We had aimed at getting up to Mt Feathertop some time in February but due to some very unfortunate circumstances we weren't able to make it. We made new plans for Easter and were able to be joined by some friends this time. The day arrived and we started walking in cloud, with the threat of rain and a forecast of thunderstorms. This didn't slow the boys down who took off a a great pace with no sign of slowing down. Mt Buffalo in the morning. We summited i...
