Friday, January 25, 2013. Spent an awesome 10 days in Nelson, BC last winter with writer Mike Horn and a cast of others that included Johan Olofsson. We were there shooting a feature for this years Kronicle Magazine. The story was to tag along with the Sweetgrass Productions crew while they filmed their next feature "Valhalla" and document Johan and his Venture noboard. Deep snow and great times for sure. Medical adventures with the Himalayan Rescue Association. We have had at least a dozen evacuations so far, the first helicopter rescue within a day of opening in September. Several different commercial helicopter agencies compete in the region to evacuate sick trekkers. Because of the money involved most evacuations are arranged by the guides and lodge owners, some of whom receive a commission for preferring a specific company.
