Stellekaya is a privately owned boutique wine producer situated in the heart of the Cape Winelands. Our cellar is located in the famous town of Stellenbosch and we source all of our grapes from producers in this appellation. From the outset we have focused on producing wines from noble red varietals. Today we are proud to produce a collection of red wines that typify the Stellenbosch terroir and also meet international super-premium quality standards.

Inspired by the constellation Orion whose brightest star is the red giant called Betelgeuse, one thousand times larger then our sun. It is an Elegant French-style Bordeaux blend, pride of the Stellekaya range. Inspired by the constellation Hercules, the giant red is Rasalgethi. Hercules became known as The Hero after completing. FOOD PAIRING CAPE CROSS 2009. A rich Cape Bobotie would be the perfect match for the Cape Cross 2009. Two Cape classics together! These quantities serve up to eight people, but you can adjust them to make the recipe smaller. 1 fairly thick slice crustless bread (white or brown). 2 onions, sliced. 2 cloves garlic, crushed(I slice them thinly, sprinkle with salt and crush with the blade of a knife). 25 ml curry powder. 15ml smooth apricot jam. 1 kg raw mince. Pinch each salt and turmeric.

Stellekaya is located in an old brandy cellar, within walking distance from the Stellenbosch town centre. The cellar had been completely renovated and has a capacity of about 20,000 cases (6 x 750ml) of premium red wine a year. All of our production is made using the traditional pigeage , punch down method in open fermentation bins. The fruit is cooled on arrival and a cold maceration process is applied to ensure that the fruit flavors are captured prior to fermentation taking place.
