This picture is a wolf headdress added to the Taylor family collection in 1916. Another important aspect of Quileute art is carving. Rather than constructing totem poles they use more formline techniques and make house posts instead of totem poles. The Quileute men still carve traditional cedar canoes that are paddled in tribal canoe races and the annual. Which the Quileute participate in each year. S14 Northwest Costal Indians Blog. September 2, 2014. This weekend I had the opportunity to spend time in Tillamook and around Cape Meares. It was such an amazing experience to be able to hike around the land and see the beauty of the region. We hiked down to the ocean and searched for plant that would have been gathered by the tribe. We were unable find any Salal berry but we found a lot of Sorrell the other tribes are known to have gathered. Investing in the next generation. A lost tribe →.
