callys blog: 2 weeks till deadline!
http://callybilbey.blogspot.com/2010/04/2-weeks-till-deadline.html
Thursday, 29 April 2010. 2 weeks till deadline! My work has changed a lot since my photo shoot. I decided on using a bookshelf as a prop to present my woven bricks, as the shelfs are a strong link to my dads as they both have them. The piece is a physical representation of the relationship I have with my dads and how they've supported me throughout my life. I want the piece to look like a working progress as obviously the relationship isn't finished. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
callys blog: old work
http://callybilbey.blogspot.com/2010/04/old-work.html
Thursday, 29 April 2010. Here's some old work which has nothing to do with what I'm doing now but thought it would be interesting to see how different it is compared to my work now. Here's some of my work where I used plaster and trapped my weaving inside. This work was the beginnings of my degree project, as you can see completely different to what it's like now. It's interesting how rich my work is through colour and texture in comparison with what I do now, and how neutral my palette has become.
callys blog: first blog
http://callybilbey.blogspot.com/2010/04/first-blog.html
Thursday, 29 April 2010. Haven't got a clue how to start a blog but here goes. Hope you like it please let me know what you think. Thought I would start by showing some examples of my work. This is my work leading up to my degree show. These images are from the photo shoot for the exhibition catalogue. My work is about my relationship with my dads, yes I said dads. The work is based around the metaphor of the home, with the home being the place of upbringing. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Esther Cromie: Collage
http://esthercromie.blogspot.com/2010/06/collage.html
Friday, 4 June 2010. This piece I created in my textile craft class. Inspiration for this piece was Sally Freshwater who creates contemporary textile pieces for interiors, the colour was inspired by a photo I found of a warehouse with different coloured windows see first photo concept board and the shapes inspired by the Sydney opera house. The brief was to use the sketches we created when visiting the Ulster museum to create a black and white poster. 5 June 2010 at 07:06. I love your final show! First y...

Saturday, 5 June 2010. The joys of second year! Second year was a difficult year as I couldn’t find my style. I started experimenting; my first samples became more abstract using the theme harbour creating my own rope using mixed media such as string, plastic, wool etc I found I didn’t enjoy creating these piece as a result I took a break from sampling and just started to draw. The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair. The knit and Stitch show. In Harrogate. In 2009 the. Magazine wrote an article on this artist, the title of the artile was "Bring me Sunshine" (embroiery, Sept/Oct 2009, p28) which I think sums up what Gardiner is trying to bring to people when they view her work. Let it soak in
Let it soak in. I have a bad memory so I record my stupid stories here. I hope you enjoy. Tuesday, February 21, 2006. I miss the days of belting it out in harmony with some of the most beautiful voices this side of heaven have to offer. Mel McCray would literally almost make me cry every time we sang together. "This is the air I breathe" "Break my heart" "Shout to the Lord" "Agnus Dei" "And Can it Be" "God of Wonders" and any song with a four part harmony! Oh Lord I seek your face and your blessings, let...

Sunday, 19 June 2016. Youve not been around these parts in a while. Couldnt bear to open your laptop and actually face up to what youre feeling. Its been a weird few months; no doubt about that. Sunday, 13 March 2016. Body confidence is something Ive struggled with as Ive grown older. As any woman goes through their teens and into their 20s they begin to notice changes in their body. For me those changes were short legs with an ever increasing waist size and bum. Wednesday, 9 March 2016.

A unwanted ghetto dancer trying to freak on a grandmother of 4 at a contra dance
I should make an active attempt to be more. uhh. active here. there are lots of loved ones who i feel like i've been so disconnected with, and this is one good alley to re-establish those connections. But i think i'm also gonna weed thru my friends list and trim it up a bit. if you'd actively still like to be included, give a shout. happy to do it. And right this very minute i'm feeling a strong need to ask the world to work on clear honest communication with me. I could go for some of that. The Ailey gi...
