Taking it one day at a time. Saturday, January 2, 2010. We got ice skates for Christmas. Our little town makes an ice rink every year. It is a treasure to us. My kids were dying to try out their skates on the coldest day. Addi was in this position most of the time. I think she banged her head three times on the ice. I felt so bad. Make Ahead Quick and Easy Chili. 1 can dark red kidney beans, drained and rinsed. 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed. 1 lb ground beef. 1 cup (or so) chopped onions. 1 chopped red bell pepper. 1 cup (give or take) chopped celery. 2 large cloves garlic, minced. 1 qt bottled tomatoes (with the juice). 1 Tbsp. brown sugar.

I ordered two baskets this week because we go through a ton of fruit around here (and I'm trying to eat more veggies! 2 heads Romaine lettuce @ 1.29 each = 2.58. 2 (1 lb.) shells of strawberries @ 2.99 = 5.98. 2 (6oz) shells of blackberries @ 2.00 = 4.00. 6 huge oranges @ .99/lb = 5.94 (1 orange at the store weighed a pound). 16 small peaches @ 3.49/lb. = 13.96 (4 peaches weighed just over a pound). Today's basket was full of great fruits and veggies to round out what's in season in our garden:. 2 crowns of broccoli. 6 ears of sweet corn. 17 small Gala apples. 1 head of Romaine. 3 plantains (No, I don't know what to do with them yet! 14 green chili peppers. Monday, September 21, 2009. We spent another full day in the hospital, but we are making progress. B had a double dose with two procedures today. The first was to get tubes for both ears - a really basic surgery that should help with both his hearing and chronic infections, yippee! Are you guys going away for your anniversary? Josh, Katie, Porter, Maisey and Zoey. Jun 16, 2010. Little fish, little fish. Josh bought a kayak this month and has been paddling around the lake by the house. So today it happened. That a fish jumped into his kayak and rather than risk tipping he just left it in there. So, he brings the fish home and Porter bonds with it immediately. Never mind that it's already. Thursday, September 17, 2009. So, I am not sure where the past 2 months have gone. Looking back, it seems we spent half of the time having fun with family and the other half on dumb doctors. Blake and I took a trip to UT at the end of July for a family runion and had such an awesome time seeing everyone. My family celebrates with all sorts of fun and silly activities like archery, a fly-off, a pinata, watching movies projected on the garage door, skim boarding in the canal, etc. and I love it all! Anyway...
