Caribbean Madness

Thursday, October 31, 2013. Tomorrow's forcast is for storm conditions, with winds in the 30s and gusts to the 50s. No weather for old men, and yet. My new 6 M kite is in the foyer, and my new board is ready to rock. We are planning a dawn patrol to our favorite wave spot,  Horseneck Beach. I hope to then travel to one of the better slicks, Pleasure Bay for an afternoon delight. . Location: Auburndale, Auburndale. Wednesday, February 3, 2010. Boy, the trip back home is a lot easier when you take a jet.

Caribbean Madness: Salt Whistle Bay

http://caribbeanmadness.blogspot.com/2010/02/salt-whistle-bay.html

Wednesday, February 3, 2010. The Swedes were around for a couple of great sessions yesterday at Salt Whistle, I was sunburned and exhausted by10:30 AM. We had 20 kts of breeze and waist high kickers inside the reef, and chest high over the reef. I re-acquinted myself with backrolls and jumping on relatively flat water. We headed off to a nice little restaurant on the hill for a nice lunch of red snapper and conch for lunch, which served as our dinner. The hell here never ends. Where are we now?

Wednesday, February 3, 2010. Salt Whistle Bay - Dana's new desktop image. We woke up to a pretty windy frontal system passing through. It was blowing about 25 knots and raining, and I had to be restrained from heading to the beach for some kiting. I hope they will be here tomorrow. Where are we now? Union Island, Clifton Harbor. Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Financial setback; progress toward Georgetown. Ted, TJ and I had a great day yesterday with one exception. As things happened, we were. Invited by the crew of Looking for Elvis to some wakeboarding and skurfing. Especially how to do a standing start on the surfboard. Right now we are 2 m...

Caribbean Madness: April 2009

http://caribbeanmadness.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 29, 2009. Heading North with a vengeance (for now). Sorry it has been so long. Paul, Joanne and I had a good trip back to Florida. The clearing in was. Uneventful, other than being sent back and forth between two offices several. Times There was no mention of the customs sticker that I was supposed to. Purchase for the boat, and no visit to the boat. I was able to make it to my mothers 80th birthday party. I was told some. A once in a lifetime trip. Trash bin onshore near the boat).

Caribbean Madness: Tobago Cays

http://caribbeanmadness.blogspot.com/2010/02/tobago-cays.html

Wednesday, February 3, 2010. After fixing the mechanical challenge on Unabated, we had our dinner of Bigeye tuna, salad, rice and pigeon peas and retired contented. The next morning, we headed out to check out the kiting spot and the local reefs, When I say local, I mean that they were right there next to the boat. Tomorrow we head for Salt Whistle bay, a short sail to the west. Where are we now? Union Island, Clifton Harbor. Salt Whistle Bay - Danas new desktop image. Gavin on the Best Oddyssey.

http://caribbeanmadnessoffshorecomms.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html

Caribbean Madness Offshore Comms. Friday, February 8, 2008. I made an offer today on a Magellan gsc100. It is old technology, but it is essentially a satellite blackberry the size of a brick and with transmission delays measured in 10 of minutes to hours. It also has VERY limited use covered in the service agreement, like 2000 characters/month. But it will give us a way to send and receive emergency. Emails. it also serves as a backup for getting text weather products from NOAA. Thursday, February 7, 2008.
