I spent the morning at the local cenotaph, and along with thousands of other Canadians, I adorned a poppy on my lapel, as a gesutre of recognition and respect for the sacrifices made by our fallen soldiers. That freedom was armed conflict - it is not glorified if you remember the sacrifces made by those players.

Reflections on Public History. Monday, December 18, 2006. Wolfe, in all his glory. Three good friends and I just got back from a 4-day road trip to Quebec City. Though we spent most of our time in Vieux Quebec. On Saturday we ventured as far as Battlefields National Park - better known as the Plains of Abraham. It was a damp, chilly afternoon, and we didn't linger very long on the windy Plains before going to get a big bowl of chocolat chaud. Second, I realized, the plaque tells its colourful story first.
