Carters In Alaska

Tuesday, March 4, 2014. I know those of you who are in the "deep freeze" in the Lower 48 do not want to hear this, but I got sunburned at the Ceremonial Start of the Iditarod in Anchorage last Saturday. That's how nice it was. I didn't take any photos of the start in downtown this year. You can check out my past years' post for those pictures. Many of the mushers have already been injured and have had to scratch, just a few days into the race. For those of you who have kids or are teachers, you can go to...

Sunday, February 26, 2012. X-Country Skiing - February 18, 2012. This photo was taken from the parking lot as we approached the lake. The next three photos were taken from beside the snow bank where you can see that the trails drops off toward the lake. View of lake to the left. View of center of lake . View of right side of lake. The friendly lady in the parking lot told us to ski in a clockwise direction around the lake. She said that it would be a pretty view. Holy cow! These pictures are of some of t...

Tuesday, March 20, 2012. Early Morning Visitor - March 20, 2012. She and the calf stayed for about two hours. Moose calf munching on our tree just before he left our yard. Although that perspective is hard to see in this photo, our yard goes downhill and our. Trees go to the bottom of the hill. Monday, March 19, 2012. Skiing in Anchorage - March 2, 2012. Carters In Alaska: March 2009

http://cartersinalaska.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 1, 2009. Jr Iditarod - 2/28/09. PS to Mr. Brooke: The snow was truly "wafting" down - perfect hot tub snow! The lathes with the orange tips in the back of the first snow machine are trail markers. More race security detail members. Putting booties on the dogs prior to the race. Dog kennels come in all shapes, sizes and colors. Team out on the line before they are harnessed and ready to go. This sled dog's eyes were blue, like a Siamese cat's eyes. Melissa Osmar walking her team to the start...

Friday, February 27, 2009. Driving to Delta with Doug - 2/25/09. Doug went to Delta Junction for training at the north Alaska FSA office this week. Delta Junction is about 6 hours north of us, near Fairbanks. He took these pictures along the way, so you can feel like you are traveling along the Glenn and Richardson Highways with him. So relax and take a drive with Doug! Note that the trees are getting more sparse. No trees at all. This flat surface is a lake. You can see the snow machine tracks. Doug did...

Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels. Really, honestly. Well, unless we are talking about Wheat Thins. With Wheat Thins, it is a whole new ball game. Thursday, May 11, 2006. It's hard to hate you when you are so damn nice. After my resume snafu, I have come out with all guns firing continuing the perpetual search of my holy grail- that illusive job. London it is. I have been sending with a fury and a fire. Well, today I received the quickest rejection EVER. Dear Ms. Kav. Posted by kav at 10:16 AM.

The Carters in Canada

The Carters in Canada. Friday, July 20, 2012. Well, what can I say. It's been quite a ride. In the week since I got back from New York, I have: visited Gananaque with my friend Michele. Her parents have a spectacular property on the river and I was treated to a personalized boat tour of the 1000 Islands. I felt pretty lucky to be able to spend time with her family who were wonderful people. The following day saw me take a drive to Howe Island with Michele to have dinner with Liz Rae Dalton and Ann O'Brie...

Lǎoshǔ in Beijing « Rod and Jess…China style

Rod and Jess…China style. Yesterday I got on and tried to do a post about our trip to FL and my account wouldn’t load any more photos. Apparently I’ve reached my max (over 900 photos loaded! Rather than pay for an upgrade, my solution to this is to make another blog called “Laoshu Part 2” – the address is: http:/ www.cartersinchina2.wordpress.com. This actually coincides with our return to Beijing for our second semester there. Fun! Thanks for checking out this one- I’ve had fun keeping it. Totally aweso...

The Carters in Colombia

The Carters in Colombia. The lives of two people living in a new land and experiencing all that God has to offer in life. Tuesday, May 29, 2007. Our time has come to an end here in Colombia. We do not know exactly where the road of life will lead us next, but we are excited about the adventure. We do know that we have loved living this part of the journey and feel so blessed to have laughed, loved, and learned so much over the past 3 years. We have learned that. 6) There are many ways to do one thing&#46...
