The Carters in Canada

The Carters in Canada. Friday, July 20, 2012. Well, what can I say. It's been quite a ride. In the week since I got back from New York, I have: visited Gananaque with my friend Michele. Her parents have a spectacular property on the river and I was treated to a personalized boat tour of the 1000 Islands. I felt pretty lucky to be able to spend time with her family who were wonderful people. The following day saw me take a drive to Howe Island with Michele to have dinner with Liz Rae Dalton and Ann O'Brie...

The Carters in Canada: The week that was!

http://www.cartersincanada.blogspot.com/2012/06/week-that-was.html

The Carters in Canada. Saturday, June 30, 2012. The week that was! I finally have a couple of quiet moments to reflect on the week that was and, oh boy, what a week it's been! Sunday dawned and Linda and I took a run up to Kilborns near Westport. This country store is a must for serious shoe shoppers everywhere. I even managed to swag myself a pair of swanky summer sandals which I'm already wearing in. Friday saw me rise a little worse for wear and i headed back to Ottawa. (I'm getting used to this t...

The Carters in Canada: Return to Canada!

http://www.cartersincanada.blogspot.com/2012/06/return-to-canada.html

The Carters in Canada. Sunday, June 17, 2012. Yeh I'm back in Canada! On the way home Murray took us on a bit of a tour of the Beaches area where they are living for the year. Dinner saw us dining at Murphy's Law, an Irish themed pub near the Walpoles house. Naturally, I obligingly sampled some of their boutique beer. Needless to say it went down a treat after my long haul flight. Some 27 hours after I last slept, I fell into bed and slept the sleep of the unconscious. Dinner saw us exploring Little Indi...

A journal of our year-long teaching exchange to Australia. Monday, December 29, 2008. We left Sydney on Monday afternoon, after being seen off at the airport by John's sister, Bernadette. We had a short flight to Fiji and a brief wait at the airport - I forgot just how humid it could get there! We arrived at 6 in the evening, and it was dark, but hot and humid! I couldn't believe it. http://baytobay.blogspot.com/2009/01/taking-to-slopes.html

A journal of our year-long teaching exchange to Australia. Tuesday, January 13, 2009. Taking to the Slopes. And ski. We took Rachel once or twice when she was about 4, and John tried snowboarding, but when the ski hill closed, that was it. Then Rachel and I took off to the t-bar and down the easy runs. She was confident, and skiied well. Natalie was just fearless! She must have known instictively how to turn, and kept wanting to be in front of me so I wouldn't hold her up! JSRN in The Bay. Carters In Alaska

Tuesday, March 4, 2014. I know those of you who are in the "deep freeze" in the Lower 48 do not want to hear this, but I got sunburned at the Ceremonial Start of the Iditarod in Anchorage last Saturday. That's how nice it was. I didn't take any photos of the start in downtown this year. You can check out my past years' post for those pictures. Many of the mushers have already been injured and have had to scratch, just a few days into the race. For those of you who have kids or are teachers, you can go to...

Rod and Jess…China style. Yesterday I got on and tried to do a post about our trip to FL and my account wouldn’t load any more photos. Apparently I’ve reached my max (over 900 photos loaded!
