CAWES Cycling: June 2014
http://cawescycling.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
That's how we roll. Monday, June 16, 2014. The team descended upon the Race Avenue Criterium in Lancaster, PA in force. Borda, Bad Kat, Kati, BChan, Choppah, and Badger all took to the line for a fast four corner crit with a looooong stretch to the finish line that included a long drag of an uphill. Nonetheless, Bad Kat found some good wheels and made it up the hill to the finish for a strong 6th place. While we didn't have the finish we would have liked. and we lost Badger and Kati halfway through t...

CAWES Cycling: March 2015
http://cawescycling.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
That's how we roll. Monday, March 23, 2015. The Spring Series Begins. For the team, our local Spring Series started with a bang! Borda took the line for the 3/4 race on March 15th. Just over a 6 mile circuit, the course may be flat (highway overpasses do NOT count as "hills), the famed south Jersey headwind is ALWAYS hanging about to try to knock you off your bike at the most inopportune moment. As the field came to the line, Borda showed that she is "Strong Like Bull," by launching a powerful sprint....
CAWES Cycling: Why I Am Specialized!
http://cawescycling.blogspot.com/2015/02/why-i-am-specialized.html
That's how we roll. Sunday, February 1, 2015. Why I Am Specialized! My love affair with Specialized Bikes began in 2008 when I brought home my first real racing bike. His name was Falco. He was a beautiful boy. an S-Works Tarmac in blue with world champ racing stripes. I was in love. He was the first bike that actually fit me. Falco took me to the top of the podium a few times and was with me the first time I raced up the Manayunk Wall in the Liberty Classic in 2009. And then. I got a "girl's" bike.
CAWES Cycling: August 2014
http://cawescycling.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
That's how we roll. Friday, August 29, 2014. Staring down the barrel of September means only a few things. the start of the school semester, the arrival of cooler weather, HALLOWEEN MOVIE NIGHT on the horizon, and Chris Thater. I wasn't thrilled with my finish on Saturday - my positioning in the last lap was awful and my legs just didn't have the jump needed to move up in the pack late in the race. Thankfully, Sunday was coming and I had the chance to redeem myself! Sunday's race still included a field o...

THE BAD KAT CONFESSIONS: May 2013
http://badkatconfessions.blogspot.com/2013_05_01_archive.html
THE BAD KAT CONFESSIONS. 034 Orange Iced Tea. I went through a stage around age 13 where I drank a lot of Turkey Hill orange iced tea and accompanied it with a lot of wheat thins. I didn't grow up as an endurance athlete. I still enjoy a tea every now and then. All in moderation. The Turkey Hill Country Classic was on Saturday. I wrote up a race report over on my team CAWES blog. Read about it here. A podium at any race is always special, but a podium at this silly bike race super special to me. I'm hopi...
