http://cazalea5.blogspot.com/2015_12_01_archive.html
Cruising from San Diego to Seattle. Monday, December 21, 2015. Maridel By The Book. I thought readers might appreciate a look at the original documentation that Gary dug up for MARIDEL, his 1959 Stephens Brothers yacht. I scanned these images, Gary framed them, and they appear on the walls of its cabins today. Here we go . BTW depending on your device, you can click on any image for an enlarged version. This is the end of this short blog. Making of a New Maridel. The engines weren't running - in fact, mo...

Yachting Cazalea: July 2015
http://cazalea5.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Cruising from San Diego to Seattle. Thursday, July 30, 2015. Regular readers (both of them) know that we have been staying on the Motor Vessel Jason in Seattle. "Caretakers" would be a generous description and "freeloaders" a cynical one. Let's just say we are "Friends of Jason." Now is the appropriate time for those of you reading for the first time to ask, "What or Who is Jason? TIME FOR A BREAK - Typical photos showing the delights of boating in. The Puget Sound area. We took it out for a short ride o...

Typhoon Cazalea: Heavy Seas and High Winds
http://cazalea6.blogspot.com/2014/10/heavy-seas-and-high-winds.html
Sunday, October 12, 2014. Heavy Seas and High Winds. We have wind-whipped seas of 3-5 feet and gale winds at a steady 45-50 knots with gusts to 63. And that's just on the pool deck! I talked to one of the officers who said we are listing to starboard a few degrees due to the lateral wind forces, and we're being forced onto a course heading less favorable than they would like, due to those winds. At least the seas are relatively flat. More later - it's 3 hours later and here's what we see outside:. Goodby...

Typhoon Cazalea: Visiting Japan During a Typhoon - why not?
http://cazalea6.blogspot.com/2014/10/visiting-japan-during-typhoon-why-not.html
Sunday, October 5, 2014. Visiting Japan During a Typhoon - why not? I've spent a lot of time on the water in the past 6 months, and fair amount of time avoiding storms. You may have read about some of those activities on Yachting Cazalea, another of my blogs. But this trip tops our cruise to Seattle. On this trip we have run into two hurricanes, or as they are called in the Pacific Ocean " TYPHOONS. Windy and Rainy are their characteristics. Notice the woman behind Laurie? Is our home. I curate. Typhoon Cazalea: Our first look at Japan
http://cazalea6.blogspot.com/2014/10/our-first-looks-at-japan.html
Sunday, October 5, 2014. Our first look at Japan. You will notice lots of temples, trees, trails and steps. Our small group of 10 is made up of folks in their 60's to 80's. By and large they don't like flights of steps, walking long distances, or taking off their shoes every 15 minutes. Ah well, how were we to know that's the essence of being a tourist in Japan? This is our coach - coming to pick us up. Here's the view from inside (but hanging out the window). I got reprimanded for this - unsafe!

Curating Cazalea: January 2012
http://cazalea.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Sunday, January 29, 2012. What is it about Bright Colors? I feel that it's time for a colorful post. I'm going to run my curator's eye over a collection of bright and brilliant art that we have assembled. Bright colors appeal to me. (Is it genetic? Inherited from the Mexican side of my family? I like these flowers assembled for my mother-in-law's memorial service. And this rubber Michelin Man clock I got in Paris about 20 years ago. This painting makes me think twice. " No, eye gouging won't help. Shoppe...
