Chasing Dreams: Guangzhou Day 9
http://journeyforlilija.blogspot.com/2014/06/guangzhou-day-9.html
Monday, June 9, 2014. After a hearty breakfast at the hotel restaurant, we met our guide Jack and another family and took a short ride to the health clinic. The other family is from North Carolina and they have adopted a 2 year old girl with a very serious heart condition. She is the size of a 4-6 month old and needs an oxygen mask. Lili went through all of the examinations with ease. She only cried during the blood draw for her TB test. The weather here is tropical. It is extremely hot and humid. It was...

Sacred Scribbles: Zoo, Visas, and a Taste from Home
http://sacredscribbles.blogspot.com/2014/07/zoo-visas-and-taste-from-home.html
Be that as it may, my Father knows best, and I'm confident that He has placed me here; my task is to labor quietly until the pillar cloud removes and leads farther, working out God's purposes in God's time." -Jim Elliot. Zoo, Visas, and a Taste from Home. Today we visited the Guangzhou City Zoo with the four other families that we are traveling alongside. Selah loved seeing the animals there, and this was her first experience at a zoo! Here are some pics! We are truly celebrating! Donate a Car California.

Kelley Family Adventure…Bringing Zoe Home: Heading South
http://zoekelley.blogspot.com/2014/07/heading-south.html
Kelley Family Adventure…Bringing Zoe Home. Saturday, July 26, 2014. Today's travel to Guangzhou is also exciting because it is where we were for two weeks over seven years ago when we came to get Sofi. Although we will not be staying in the same hotel, and much of the city has changed over the past few years, the "feel" was the same as we came down the escalator in the airport, and met our guide to be for the next few days. December 1, 2016 at 12:34 AM. Contents of this website are good and appreciative.

Chasing Dreams: The chase is on!
http://journeyforlilija.blogspot.com/2014/06/the-chase-is-on.html
Friday, June 27, 2014. The chase is on! In the last post, I said that "everything happens for a reason." Those words don't ring any truer than in our chase for Lilija. The little girl who is staring at us from that page is our daughter, which we have been waiting for a long time. So, this was our last ditch effort. If, by the time our credentials expired, and nothing had happened, we were going to go with our lives, and say that it just wasn't meant to be. No one else can bring her home! LSC is "Letter S...

Kelley Family Adventure…Bringing Zoe Home: Gotcha Day!
http://zoekelley.blogspot.com/2014/07/gotcha-day.html
Kelley Family Adventure…Bringing Zoe Home. Sunday, July 20, 2014. Nearly a years worth of wait, more than a few trees of paperwork, countless prayers, and the unselfish help and support of friends and family….we are here! The Great Wall seems a distant memory already, as we board the Hainan Airlines flight in Beijing for our two hour flight south to Nanchang. That's the neat thing about any adoption. If you have done so, then you understand that what you receive as adoptive parents is far greater tha...

Team Sykes: Two steps forward...
http://teamsykes.blogspot.com/2015/06/two-steps-forward.html
Our family blog :-). Wednesday, June 10, 2015. That's the expression right? Two steps forward. One step back." Sometimes I mix up expressions, because I am not detail oriented, so forgive me if I am doing that here. But this sentiment sums up where we are right now. So, I asked that question on this group - what the timeline was for people in our situation and two people responded that they got LOA in a week or less once they got their file! This made us so happy! Two steps forward, right. And nothing mo...

The Cain Family
http://raisingcainintx.blogspot.com/2008/07/some-snapshots-of-life-in-cain.html
Sunday, July 20, 2008. Some snapshots of life in the Cain household. We've been spoiled by all of our visitors since moving. We've had non-stop company and it has been a lot of fun. My brother came to visit 4th of July Weekend. He, Brad, my dad and Brad's friend played in a golf tournament here in our neighborhood. He took Caleb back to North Carolina with him for a week which was a nice break for us! Posted by Brad, Leslie, Caleb and Jacob. And I love the naked baby pics! Donate a Car California. We are...

Finding Our Lost Girl: Connecting the Spots
http://findingourlostgirl.blogspot.com/2015/06/connecting-spots.html
Finding Our Lost Girl. This is the true story of how a family in the United States finds their daughter in China and brings her home. Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Ava had another quick check-up this week for a weight check and two more shots. Ava has only gained about 3/4 of a pound, but she is clearly thriving so the pediatrician told us to keep working on adding foods but that she looks great. She really does. (Photo courtesy of 2 year old Jacob). She woke up the next morning with a big toothy grin. I gla...
