lululu at home: Red Bean Chili
http://lululuathome.blogspot.com/2010/06/red-bean-chili.html
June 20, 2010. As much as I love this dish, I love this picture. It makes me consider to put chili on my regular cooking list now. My worry of turning chili into a regular beef sauce has gone, because what makes this chili so different is I put cocoa powder, lime juice and most importantly beer. Yes, a whole bottle of good lager which I can't come up with a substitute. Serves 4 - 6). 2 tablespoons olive oil. 1 1/2 pounds ground beef. 1 large onion, diced. 5 garlic cloves, finely diced. 1 red pepper, diced.

Chunky Twix Cookies - Sprinkled with Flour
http://www.sprinklewithflour.com/2010/12/chunky-twix-cookies.html
December 9, 2010. Follow me on Pinterest! A little known fact about me, is that I have the tendency to get bored with making chocolate chip cookies. I am forever thinking of different ways to add a new twist to the faithful chocolate chip cookie. I had great success with my Malted Milk Ball Chewies. And liked the malt ball candy substitution so well that I began to wonder about other candy cookie possibilities. Admittedly, it's sorta like putting cookies INTO cookies, but who says you can't do that?

Dishing up Nirvana: Banana fritters
http://dishingupnirvana.blogspot.com/2010/08/banana-fritters.html
Monday, August 2, 2010. There are always bananas in our home. Such a convenient, portable and healthy snack. Invariably though you end up with a very ripe banana that nobody feels like eating. Fritters are a perfect way to make a ripe banana go a long way. I fried up a batch after the main course, dusted them with cinnamon sugar and drizzled dark chocolate all over! 4 forks sharing from a loaded plate, everyone nodding in mutual appreciation, it was really good fun. 2 teaspoon fennel seeds. Rub the butte...

http://dishingupnirvana.blogspot.com/2010/07/passionfruit-and-lemon-syrup-cake.html
Friday, July 23, 2010. Passionfruit and lemon syrup cake. If only you could grab a piece and taste! You would know then just how good this moist, flavourful cake really tastes. I fear that my words alone do not do it justice. You'll just have to trust me then and take my word for it. This cake rocks! One piece will never be enough. And I'm not just saying that. Convinced yet? This recipe is adapted from The Australian Women's Weekly magazine. The cake is light, moist and fantastic! 250g butter, softened.

Tools of the Trade. Home & Garden. How To Start a Food Blog. June 30, 2010. Monster cookies are everything good that there is about cookie-baking and candy-eating. They are sometimes referred to as “kitchen sink cookies” because at first glance it seems that just about everything but the kitchen sink is thrown into these cookies. Peanut butter, oats, chocolate chips, M&M’s, Reese’s Pieces… They are basically the Peanut Butter-Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies. And the Chewy Oatmeal-Raisin Cookies. 10-12 min...

Vegetable Matter: Texas Peach Cobbler
http://vegetablematter.blogspot.com/2010/06/texas-peach-cobbler.html
Tex-Med recipes and organic vegetable gardening from our home in Houston, Texas. Wednesday, June 16, 2010. Kenny gave us a big bag of peaches from Rhew Orchards. The buttery biscuit topping can't be beat. It complements the fresh peaches perfectly here, although frozen peaches would work well too if you aren't lucky enough to be in Texas during peach season. 6 cups peaches, sliced. 3 Tbs unbleached A.P. flour. 1 1/2 cup unbleached A.P. flour. 1 Tbs baking powder. 2 Tbs sugar (plus more to sprinkle on top).

Prairie Story: Apple Crisp
http://www.prairiestory.com/2010/08/apple-crisp.html
Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Apple crisp is such a comfort food, just like an old friend. So I asked one of my long-time, best, prairie friends, Faye, if she had a good apple crisp recipe. Of course, she did. The apples are tender, the topping is crispy and so yummy. I made some yesterday and will make some more today to freeze. Enjoy! 8 cups apples, peeled, cored and sliced. 2 tablespoons lemon juice. 2 tablespoons white sugar. 1/2 cup brown sugar. Place apple mixture in a greased 9x9 baking dish. I love...
