Critical section是一種程式上的觀念，隸屬於同一個critical section的程式碼【不能】同時被執行，要特別注意的是critical section要保護的是資料或狀態並不是要保護程式碼本身(當然啦，在很高階的程式設計技巧中，程式碼會被當成資料看待，但我們暫是不考慮這樣的狀況)。 要如何建立一個critical section是因著實際的情況的不同而有所不同，特別要考慮的因素往往是，將存取該資料的些程式碼是由誰呼叫，再更加的細細思索，真正要考慮的是：在執行的過程中是否可能交錯執行。 1 多處理器的情況下可能會有好幾個cpu同時執行，那麼自然而然的會有race condition發生. 2 multiprogramming的情況下(最常發生的是user mode的程式。在kernel mode中，如果是fully preemptive kernel也需要注意可能的context switch). 2 disable/enable scheduler（或者你的程式和scheduler達成某種同步，這通常只有kernel辦得到）. 61548; Lazy context switch&#...

這個blog描述作者使用Debian GNU/Linux的日常生活，請勿過度期待。 Linux上的module都必須要以GPLv2授權釋出。如果你寫得module是要公開給大家用，那麼就要套用GPLv2授權。 Linux中的module使用KBuild系統編譯。此系統建立在makefile之上，只要include特定的Makefile，就可支援標準的makemodule功能。 Linux中有許多部份使用Macro來簡化程式碼。例如module的資料、module的屬性等等。所以通常整個module的function都是以static修飾字宣告，來減少symbol table的大小。 建立一個Makefile，將裡面需要編譯的動作都透過/lib/modules/(kernel版本)/build/Makefile這個makefile來編譯程式。然後就可以下make來編譯了。 另外，新增一個target叫做module install，然後也去呼叫同一個Makefile的module install，這樣就可以透過make來自動安裝module了。 目前KVM的實做提供了一個可載入的kernel module...

與os的一段旅程
寫完這篇文章，這學期的OS課程也就正是結束了，因此在這邊抒發一下上課的感覺。 首先，這學期最另大家詬病的就是，老師在期中之前一直動不動就請假，而導致課程進度不斷的delay。有時候臨時請假時，大家去上課之後才發現停課，一整個心情相當的差，而且當假越放越多時，就會很不想去上這堂課。 再來由於課程delay嚴重的關係，因此期中的範圍相當的少，但到期末之後一直瘋狂的補課，趕進度，使得期末範圍變得相當的大，讓我在準備期末時感覺要念得東西太多了，很難負荷。因此這學期的進度拿捏真的不是很好。 助教方面的話，由於每個作業是某個助教負責，這樣子或許對他們有利，因為只要負責一部分就好了。但對我們來講，當找不到該名負責的助教時，要問其他助教相關的事，就沒辦法回答有關的問題，因此讓人覺得助教們相當的混。更別說作業成績到期末才一一批改完，之前交了作業都不曉得到底有沒有收到。 雖然老師教學上可以感受的到很想要認真的教給大家東西，不過由於以上種種原因，使得大家感覺並不是很好，甚至有些人一直在罵，這是相當可惜的部份。希望日後能夠有所改進。 12290;在嵌入式系統環境下，可用的memory空間往往不夠，因...Kernel pani...
