Hyperion to a Satyr. This Week in Geek (11-17/05/15). I've been wanting to get into Love and Rockets, the comics not the band, so I got the first collection, Maggie the Mechanic, and go from there. The rest of my purchases this week are DVDs: Captain America The Winter Soldier, Predestination, Continuum Season 1 and 2, Locke, and Lucy. At the movies: Does every genre movie have to spawn a gendrist controversy? Over the course of a week, we see how Eva and her observer interact, and come to wonder who is ...

Siskoid's Blog of Geekery: Snapshots of Jimmy Olsen #21: The Bird Boy of Metropolis
http://siskoid.blogspot.com/2015/05/snapshots-of-jimmy-olsen-21-bird-boy-of.html
Hyperion to a Satyr. Snapshots of Jimmy Olsen #21: The Bird Boy of Metropolis. Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen #26 (1958). In a story that makes you wonder what the hell the Silver Age Superman was thinking half the time (to keep this about Jimmy, I've decided to keep the Super-centric material for later posts), Jimmy finally earns his wings and flies. Well, not really. No flamingo is safe. And Jimmy isn't just recovering escaped birds, he's using the damn thing to market the planet as well! This time, Super...

Tech, Games, and Observations. Mar 21st, 2011 at 7:11 PM. I had the chance to play Dungeon World. With my friend Remi GMing. DW, is an old school D&D-style game using modern game ideas. It’s based on Tony Dowler’s Apocalypse D&D, combining D&D and Vincent Baker’s Apocalypse World. Now, I am thinking I might have to see if my sister would like to play some Dungeon World, maybe get my 13 your old Daughter involved too. Inspired by Fiction Future Campaign Ideas: Prequel to Apocalypse. And dose of Ghost/Echo.

It is not having been in the Dark House, but having left it, that counts. TR. Paris day 7 and our return home. Oct 11th, 2010 at 10:10 PM. I write this last narrative about our wonderful trip to Paris some weeks after the events herein described. Unfortunately, that was unavoidable. We took full advantage of our last day in Paris and then had a busy day returning home, and then "normal" life reasserted itself with a vengence, so I had to wait and find my moment to put the last bit down in writing. Of cou...

Hyperion to a Satyr. The X-Files #143: Sense and Antisense. Control of third world populations designated secret national policy.". National Security Memo 200 (1971). Frank and Watts uncover a conspiracy in the Human Genome Project. THE TRUTH IS OUT THERE:. The writing is frequently brilliant, especially in the way it obliquely treats mind control, but it occasionally takes wrong turns that pull you out of the experience. Swashbuckle Me THIS, You Heroic Hooded Hoodlum! - Steven Marsh

Swashbuckle Me THIS, You Heroic Hooded Hoodlum! Mar 31st, 2009 at 10:25 PM. As a long-time fan of Chad Underkoffler, I was going to enter the Swashbucklers of the 7 Skies. This entails using their "original" logo in some new and creative fashion. Unfortunately, while perusing my old records for inspiration, imagine my surprise when I discovered that this logo isn't so original after all! Deserves a look or seven, then check our the website. 3 comments Leave a comment. Apr 1st, 2009 02:47 am (UTC).
