The Ticker Tape | Physical Computing

https://chalmersphyscomp08.wordpress.com/2008/10/26/the-ticker-tape

October 26, 2008 at 5:43 pm. The ticker tape looks just like an ordinary radio, but it is much more than that. It is an radio with a connection to Internet who scans for light-hearted news stories from around the world. Then Broadcast them to the user who can remove and add content via a special designed website, which is still under construction. You can simply say that it is a radio which only plays good news. To cure a person who suffers from Euphobia. One of the reasons that this project caught my at...

A MIDI-Ready Nintendo Game Boy, with Help From Arduino | Physical Computing

https://chalmersphyscomp08.wordpress.com/2008/10/20/a-midi-ready-nintendo-game-boy-with-help-from-arduino-3

A MIDI-Ready Nintendo Game Boy, with Help From Arduino. October 20, 2008 at 3:59 pm. This project is about circuit bending a first-generation Nintendo Game Boy in order to be able to control its 8-bit sound chip via an external keyboard. Communication between the two is realized via a MIDI interface: the author custom built a cartridge to provide the Game Boy with suitable external connectors, then used Arduino to interface the portable console with any other MIDI device (a keyboard in the video).

September | 2008 | Physical Computing

https://chalmersphyscomp08.wordpress.com/2008/09

Archive for September, 2008. Dr Richard Helmer came up with the idea to integrate motion censors into clothing and then having the clothing send the signals wirelessly to a chosen source, which you have in turn synchronized the clothing with. By doing this he has been able to play various air instruments in a fun and intuitive way, turning strings of motions from the real body into actions in the synchronized system/program. Links to further information on the project and Dr Helmer can be found HERE.

October 20, 2008 at 3:59 pm. What intrigues me about this kind of projects is the fact that raw electrical discharges are being modulated, controlled, and bent in order to produce proper music. This surely is very strong statement about the power of Man over the physical world. Sources: Musical Tesla Coils. Entry filed under: Musical Interfaces. The kaisatsuko (literally wheel-bowed fiddle) is an experimental musical instrument. The experimental instrument is a electric, two-string upright fiddle operated by a small crank. It is played by turning the crank ( thus bowing the strings ) and fingering the strings on the fretless neck. A crank is affixed to a small nylon wheel mounted on the body. The player turns the crank, causing the wheel to spin and “bow” the strings. The translation of the word is as follows:. On his webiste’s intro, Onoue says:.

Chalmers Physical Computing 2010 weblog. Mini Projects →. November 3, 2010. This is the Pyrosphere shown in the Burning Man 2010. I think it is really cool because I like light and fire that are programmed to the music. The Pyrosphere is thirty-seven feet tall and it has ninety-one flamethrowers. So it is quite big. And the best is that it’s control by a Arduino. Here is a movie of what it can do:. From the site Nexus Burning Man 2010 Photos. This entry was posted in Inspiration. Light and Fire Show.

October 27, 2008 at 3:52 pm. Unprecedented musical instrument as a kind of ‘Moog’ Synthesizer’s controller dating back to 60’s ,the ‘Ribbon Controller ‘ uses an intrface -a conductive ribbon- and a chip NE555 which is a simple oscillator to produce some low noises going into a MULTI EFFECT(KORG AX1G) device to make desirable sounds . You should have the ability to generate harmonic sounds in order to make the best use of this kinda wierd musical instrument which is consisiting of three main part as follow.
