Life as a 5 year old…. All grown up…. August 31, 2009 at 5:29 pm. I don’t cry very often, but this morning I shed a tear. Not when I dropped her off, and not even when I was driving away. I cried when I opened these pictures. When did my baby grow up? I cannot get over how beautiful and amazing she is, and OMG, she is SO grown up! I blinked and there she was…. Yesterday Claire had a day off school and her top request was a trip to the Science Museum. We had a great time. Mom had asked me when I turned 4 last month if I wanted to get my ears pierced, but I wasn't quite ready. Today, I announced out of the blue that I was ready and wanted to go - right now. I choose my birthstone, blue topaz as my first earrings. I was only a little worried. I held Mom's hand and gave the bear a squeeze. No problem at all! I am a super brave princess. And a little pinch.

We wanted to share some pictures and bring you up to date. Mom recently brought out the crochet hooks again. Inspired by the cute hats given to us at Children's Hospital she decided to make us some. We both picked our own yarn and patterns. Sarah likes to play computer with all her pets watching - hamsters and cats.

School starts in two weeks so it was a last chance to get away for some fun. So our parents surprised us with an overnight trip to Cincinnati. We stayed in a hotel and made a shopping trip to Ikea. We had to enjoy our hotel room with a little pillow fighting. We all loved the jellyfish room. They were cool! Some fish were bigger than us!
