The Itchy and Scratchy Show! Hares: Ferfoxsake and Pusher. The first half was fairly uneventful and conversation revolved mainly around the topic of shopping, specifically hydration accessories* , the most highly recommended being the Fuel Belt. Seeing as they are designed to cut through underbrush, are not terribly expens...

Caesar Salad: November 2005
http://caesarsalad.blogspot.com/2005_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 24, 2005. Monty's Bistro, Lerwick. After being given directions during the day I finally found Monty's. Good write-up on the net - specialising in Shetland food and a cosy little upstairs dining area. Not sure about the orange walls. Mussels to start in a double cream, lemon and a touch of green chili sauce. Super big mussels (hope they were local) but the sauce didn't have much chili touch at all. Caesar Salad: May 2005
http://caesarsalad.blogspot.com/2005_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 23, 2005. Brewsters, Merthyr Tydfil. Same chain as Birmingham last week but a minimalist Caesar salad. Lettuce (cos and friseé allegedly), croutons and parmesan shavings. The parmesan was awful. Unless it was a welsh variant with a touch of caerphilly the only other taste I could identify was rubber. I told the waiter that I didn't think it was parmesan and he assured me it was. No apology or money back or satisfaction guaranteed. 3/10. Posted by Julius Caesar at 7:52 pm. Sunday, May 22, 2005.

Caesar Salad: April 2005

Saturday, April 23, 2005. Priory Marina, Bedford. Strangely when I retired to the next door pub for a pint and a cigar they wouldn't serve me a single cigar but requested I bought an entire pack. Caesar Salad: March 2005
http://caesarsalad.blogspot.com/2005_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 25, 2005. Our House, in the middle of our street. Romaine lettuce (59p), Tesco caesar salad dressing ( 1-18), croutons, made from existing slice of white bread (0.9p), parmesan shavings from existing block of reggiano (5p). Absolutely gorgeous. No fancy this or trendy that. For under a quid a quality salad. Eat your heart out Belfast. 11/10. Posted by Julius Caesar at 8:38 pm. Wednesday, March 23, 2005. Posted by Julius Caesar at 5:38 pm. Caesar Salad: September 2005
http://caesarsalad.blogspot.com/2005_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 11, 2005. The Old School House Inn, Comber near Belfast. Following night was just as good. Scallops and Noisettes de lamb. Similar wine. All in all a very good culinary experience. Disappointed when the bill was presented and my 'on demand' steak on wednesday night was considered a 2 course evening meal and charged at 19-95 plus 6 supplement for the steak. But it was the second best of the year so far, but the most expensive. Posted by Julius Caesar at 8:32 pm. Been there - ate that.

Caesar Salad: Addis, Caledonian Road, London
http://caesarsalad.blogspot.com/2012/12/addis-caledonian-road-london.html
Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Addis, Caledonian Road, London. Ethiopian and chosen by eldest son as a farewell dinner before youngest son went to work abroad. 4 people had an Ethiopian beer, 3 starters, 4 main courses and the total was 60. Phenomenal value. A really good, cheap, different meal less than 100 yards from Kings Cross station. Easy to find and worth the effort. Posted by Julius Caesar at 7:16 pm. We are normal and we want our freedom. What do? Been there - ate that. 1885, Stainland October 2011.

Caesar Salad: Ruby's Lounge, Mirfield
http://caesarsalad.blogspot.com/2011/07/rubys-lounge-mirfield.html
Tuesday, July 19, 2011. Ruby's Lounge, Mirfield. On the spur of the moment we fancy a Ruby Murray. This place is new but very near home so we give it a go. Alternatives which we know and love are 10 miles away in Bradford but cheap and well tried. Nice atmosphere, stark but modern decor (whereas the Kashmir in Bradford doesn't do decor) and an interesting menu which is freely available on the web (Kash doesn't do web). Caesar Salad: October 2005
http://caesarsalad.blogspot.com/2005_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, October 29, 2005. Auberge du Mouton Blanc (The White Sheep Inn). Smoked salmon to start. Rarely disappoints. The menu didn't say where it was from but it was a substantial piece of succluent fish served with a panier of fresh sliced baguette, an oil dressing and some fresh corriander to counterpoint its subtle flavour. A very thin slice of pungent Camembert served with thinly sliced tomato. Worth saving some of the wine for this slight but powerfully cheeky little entre-acte. Moelleux au chocol...
