Rice – 1 cup. Water – 3 cups. Gingelly Oil – 2 tablespoons. Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp. Salt – to taste. Red chillies – 5. Garlic – 1. Curry leaves – a few. Urud dhal – ½ tsp. Channa dhal – 1 tablespoon. Milk – ¼ cup. Cook the rice with salt to taste in 3 cups of water. The cooked rice on a tray(this is to keep the grains separated and fluffy). Squeeze the juice of the lemons on this rice and mix gently. Heat the oil in a pan. Add the mustard and let it crackle. Add the rice to the above and mix well.

Heat the oil and ghee in a pressure cooker and fry the cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom till you get the spicy fragrance. Add the ginger garlic paste and fry a little.
