For those who fancy farm living. Thursday, July 12, 2007. A Little Insight . thanks Tiff :). An old man, a boy and a donkey were going to town. The boy rode on the donkey and the old man walked. As they went along they passed some people who remarked it was a shame the old man was walking and the boy was riding. The man and boy thought maybe the critics were right, so they changed positions. As they crossed the bridge, they lost their grip on the animal and he fell into the river and drowned.

For those who fancy farm living. Sunday, July 19, 2009. Weeds a constant battle. The pasture grass is rapidly being overrun. I am sure I am not the only person to ever think of this but it seems to me like some smart botanist could think of a way to cross some of the hearty varieties of weed with some type of desired crop rendering the desired crop drought resistant, able to grow in poor soil, and prolific, eh? I had tried spraying and that didn't work so how did I do it? I hand pulled every Goathead.

For those who fancy farm living. Friday, April 20, 2012. Still Alive (and now fairly well). So much has happened since my last blog post. Maybe someday I will write about it but not today. Today I am just going to reflect on the big changes at Almosta Farm. So that is the state of affairs at Almosta Farm. While I miss my horses I have horses on both sides of me. Friday, February 17, 2006. Done and done :). I have to go to work so this is not going to be very detailed. Suffice it to say kidding season is over at Almosta Farm. Trixie has had 2 beautiful bucky babies. They were freakishly huge! This picture shows that they are so big their sweaters don't even fit! We were on our way home and talking about how tonight was forecast to be the coldest night of the week, down to 17 degrees. Almost the farm I have always wanted. Sunday, October 2, 2005. Summer Falls by the Wayside. There is a cool, crisp chill in the mornings now. Crops are being harvested. Soon we will find a drenching rain greeting us daily. I better get busy and get my loafing shed finished and my hay put up and my trees planted and my garden beds weeded and over seed the bare patches in my lawn . . . before it is too late!
