Parags daily digest . Sunday, August 20, 2006. 131 miles through a runners eyes. So the AFC half-marathon is done but it will forever be etched in my memory as the first race I participated in. Before I come to the results and how I performed let me try and walk you through the 13.1 miles to the finish line. That's the story of my first run. I can't believe I am about to attempt this trek at such a short notice. Here are the vital stats. Trail Name : Cactus to Clouds. Location : Palm Springs, CA. Summit : San Jacinto Peak. Elevation : 10,834 feet (3,302 metres). Range : San Jacinto mountains. Trail length : 23 miles trip from base-summit-tram station. Altitude gain : 10,700 feet climb, 2,700 feet descent.
