Tuesday, March 31, 2009. Unfortunately my scales weighed their last bit of flour a few weeks ago before packing it in meaning I have not been able to bake for a while. However there is one substitute that doesn't always require the use of scales and is staving off the baking withdrawal symptoms: traybaking. I like mine made with a mixture of milk and dark chocolate which does not have to be the expensive stuff. This isn't about sophistication or the best ingredients you can find,. I hate to say it but.

Laquo; Summer Lentil Ragu. Yes, three or even four bean chilli would have sounded better but I forgot that we had other beans hidden away when it came to soaking time last night. We ended up with black beans and haricot beans which worked well anyway. The basic recipe is based on our recently tweaked chilli con carne. 4 tbsp olive oil. 2 red chillies, roasted, deseeded and pulped. 4 garlic cloves, roasted and then pulped. 15 tsp ground cumin. 3/4 tsp ground coriander. 3/4 tsp chipotle chilli powder.

Mar 14th, 2011. Mexican Style Whole Chicken. We had some friends over for dinner on Saturday night and, after exploring pretty much every cuisine we could think of, we settled on Mexican food. The reason it took us so long to decide is that we wanted to cook Maddhur Jaffrey’s chicken. We also decided to try our luck with a pork fillet which didn’t work so well.
