Global Family Rescue Uganda 2008 Mission Trip

Global Family Rescue Uganda 2008 Mission Trip. Saturday, July 12, 2008. It has been two weeks since I have returned from Uganda. I have been reading the blogs from Team Two and following Team Three. I wanted to take an opportunity to share some thoughts about Uganda and this trip. I’ve held a child with AIDS,. Waded in the Nile. Saw God’s glory in His creation. I’ve wept with my friends,. Saw children raising children. Received an African name. I saw a village ravaged by disease. One of the things I did ...

Global Family Rescue Uganda 2008 Mission Trip: Paraa Lodge - Day 1

http://chrisanddebbieuganda.blogspot.com/2008/07/paraa-lodge-day-1.html

Global Family Rescue Uganda 2008 Mission Trip. Saturday, July 12, 2008. Paraa Lodge - Day 1. We have a LONG trip in front of us. Today we head for Murchison Falls. We leave the house at 4am in order to beat the traffic of Kampala and arrive at Paraa. The sunrise is magnificent – truly God’s handiwork. The sky is ablaze with color and I have a great view. It takes my mind off my back pain (and the three Advil don’t hurt either). We head for Murchison. Sitting on top of the world. Lodge There is a massage ...

Global Family Rescue Uganda 2008 Mission Trip: Namyoya - Work Day 2

http://chrisanddebbieuganda.blogspot.com/2008/07/namyoya-work-day-2.html

Global Family Rescue Uganda 2008 Mission Trip. Saturday, July 12, 2008. Namyoya - Work Day 2. Today is Thursday (June 26). This is the last scheduled day we have. The full team is headed to Namyoya. Those who did not go on Wednesday are anxious to see all the changes that have happened to the church since we attended services last Sunday. As we leave Kampala today, we have to take a detour courtesy of road construction on the main highway towards Namyoya. The ‘detour’ resembles a BMX. No - it is not Gunga.

Global Family Rescue Uganda 2008 Mission Trip. Saturday, July 12, 2008. Paraa Lodge - Day 2. We awake to a beautiful morning. Breakfast is great and we check out and head for the bus. We want to leave by noon so that we do not get back to Kampala too late. We have decided to attend church in Namyoya. On Sunday so that we can spend one last day with the people we have grown to love. We arrive at the Nile and board the boat. The river is dotted with foam from Murchison. We catch the occasional croc. As we ...

http://chrisanddebbieuganda.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

Global Family Rescue Uganda 2008 Mission Trip. Sunday, June 29, 2008. Road Trip - Day 1 (Fort Portal). We left early for Western Uganda. It is a five hour trip to Tooro. High School. The roads are not bad and the traffic is fairly light. All in all, the drive was not too bad. We have a good group and JJ. Is better than a radio station. We arrive in Fort Portal and take our bags to the hotel. From there we go to Tooro. Silas is VERY happy. Can you guess what this is? It is what is left of the house Silas ...

My trip to Africa: Days 6 and 7- Fort Portal

http://generallimelight.blogspot.com/2008/06/days-6-and-7-fort-portal.html

My trip to Africa. Tuesday, June 24, 2008. Days 6 and 7- Fort Portal. It was about a six hour drive there and back, which is terrible. I've probably spent more time on busses and planes than I have in villages, but I suppose I don't have any power over that. I was actually looking to talk to Melody last night; but it seems they got sick of waiting and went to bed at normal human being time, unlike the rest of us. I'll talk to her later. Mostly, I am overwhelmed. The people have what it is I need. Not jus...

My trip to Africa: Days 4 and 5- Free day and Namyoya

http://generallimelight.blogspot.com/2008/06/days-4-and-5-free-day-and-namyoya.html

My trip to Africa. Sunday, June 22, 2008. Days 4 and 5- Free day and Namyoya. Another exhausting couple of days. Wow! Not just exhausting physically, but emotionally. Even mentally. It's absolutely incredible here, don't get me wrong, but it's just so different. Case in point, the free day yesterday. The high point of the day was visiting the shops. The first place we went to was called National Theatre, and it was a sort of Marketplace. So, I got to barter! And, today we went to Namyoya for church and t...

Kaitlin. In. Africa. Saturday, May 31, 2008. I love peter pan! I made it to Uganda! The nice paved streets, and the beautiful Ugandan landscape! More pictures will be up soon! Friday, May 30, 2008. All of our luggage didn't make it here yet, so we are waiting on it. 3 days of traveling is extremely exhausting, I didn't sleep very well on any of the 3 plane rides, saw a bunch of movies, but never really finished any of them becacuse I'd fall asleep for a half hour or so. Two new stars: Aidric and Lachlan! Friday, October 11, 2013. Fancy Kid Pictures - Moon Summer of Fun! Over the summer we finally took the boys to get some professional pictures. I was skeptical of how the boys would do, but the pictures turned out spectacular. Chris & Debby

Saturday, July 23, 2011. Last Tuesday lots of people turned out to watch the construction crews place the statue of the Angel Moroni on top of the temple in Brigham City. He arrived onm a flat bed truck, all wrapped up, and when he was finally lifted off the truck, a huge cheer and loud clapping greeted him. The estimate is that the building will be ready next summer. It is nearly all enclosed, and will soon be weather-tight for the winter. Labels: Moroni Comes Home. Maddie took her swings, too, but I do...

Chris and debs in idaho!

Chris and debs in idaho! By its nature, the site is mostly going to be a repository for our photographs. There is so much to do and see in Idaho (and some of the other places we've managed to get to see over the past few years, that we wanted a way to share the memories - and what better way to do that then our own website? Besides which, Chris has been itching to try web design for years now)! Let us know what you think. Welcome to our Website!
