My trip to Africa: Days 6 and 7- Fort Portal
http://generallimelight.blogspot.com/2008/06/days-6-and-7-fort-portal.html
My trip to Africa. Tuesday, June 24, 2008. Days 6 and 7- Fort Portal. It was about a six hour drive there and back, which is terrible. I've probably spent more time on busses and planes than I have in villages, but I suppose I don't have any power over that. I was actually looking to talk to Melody last night; but it seems they got sick of waiting and went to bed at normal human being time, unlike the rest of us. I'll talk to her later. Mostly, I am overwhelmed. The people have what it is I need. Not jus...

My trip to Africa: Days 4 and 5- Free day and Namyoya
http://generallimelight.blogspot.com/2008/06/days-4-and-5-free-day-and-namyoya.html
My trip to Africa. Sunday, June 22, 2008. Days 4 and 5- Free day and Namyoya. Another exhausting couple of days. Wow! Not just exhausting physically, but emotionally. Even mentally. It's absolutely incredible here, don't get me wrong, but it's just so different. Case in point, the free day yesterday. The high point of the day was visiting the shops. The first place we went to was called National Theatre, and it was a sort of Marketplace. So, I got to barter! And, today we went to Namyoya for church and t...

Global Family Rescue Uganda 2008 Mission Trip: Namyoya - Work Day 2
http://chrisanddebbieuganda.blogspot.com/2008/07/namyoya-work-day-2.html
Global Family Rescue Uganda 2008 Mission Trip. Saturday, July 12, 2008. Namyoya - Work Day 2. Today is Thursday (June 26). This is the last scheduled day we have. The full team is headed to Namyoya. Those who did not go on Wednesday are anxious to see all the changes that have happened to the church since we attended services last Sunday. As we leave Kampala today, we have to take a detour courtesy of road construction on the main highway towards Namyoya. The ‘detour’ resembles a BMX. No - it is not Gunga.

http://chrisanddebbieuganda.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Global Family Rescue Uganda 2008 Mission Trip. Saturday, July 12, 2008. It has been two weeks since I have returned from Uganda. I have been reading the blogs from Team Two and following Team Three. I wanted to take an opportunity to share some thoughts about Uganda and this trip. I’ve held a child with AIDS,. Waded in the Nile. Saw God’s glory in His creation. I’ve wept with my friends,. Saw children raising children. Received an African name. I saw a village ravaged by disease. One of the things I did ...

We arrive in Fort Portal and take our bags to the hotel. From there we go to Tooro. Silas is VERY happy. Can you guess what this is? It is what is left of the house Silas ...
