Saturday, April 20, 2013. Now with a comment. Sothe influence for this piece came from Alma Thomas. The former for her painting style and the latter for his seminal investigations into how we see color. Secondly the colors are off. The left side is actually a green hue and the right is a much richer and darker red. I'll for a better photo but so far I haven't pulled it off. Untitled. Acrylics on canvas 20x28. Thursday, February 16, 2012. So this one is a modification of a Color Field influenced piece from a couple of years ago. It wasn't terrible, but it was also not terribly interesting. So I took a metaphorical axe to it. It became less an abstract.okay, not really an abstract but I like the colors. Saturday, October 22, 2011. A couple more news ones. I was playing with simple ink lines in blocks on white watercolor paper. I'd done a similar one. Last year that worked out well and now lives happily on a friend's wall in the Bay area. This one is a bit different in that I cut up the blocks and pasted them on a black background. It's also simpler. 8 Figures. Ink and acrylics on paper. 6 x 18 or so. The second has gone through many changes and many fixes. I think it's finished now. Links to this post.

January 16, 2018. Another Snow Day in Houston! We ended 2017 with a snow day in mid-December, and now we start the new year with another in mid-January. He has studied in Pune, India, with the Iyengar family four times and is a student of a wide range of senior teachers including Patricia Walden, Manouso Manos, Gloria Goldberg, and Christian Pisano.
