http://jeremycornman.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Triathlon training and racing, adventures, and my life. Tuesday, July 31, 2012. The end of the week included the standard last couple workouts, packet pickup, bike cleaning and gear check-in, and meeting up with Pittsburgh friends and teammates. Prior to the big day. Pittsburgh represents. Go Ballou Skies! We headed down to the beach, took some deep breaths, and then helped each other into our Blue Seventy. Notwithstanding Ironman's incorrect pace calculation seen below, I averaged 1:35/100m or 1:27/100y...

Athletic Life NYC: August 2011
http://nycathlete.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
My adventures as I swim, bike, run, sail and surf my way through life in New York City. Tuesday, August 9, 2011. Before I go any further with my emotion filled "analyses", let me say that the two deaths and what I saw as a spectator that I will write about may have nothing to do with each other. A heart attack is unpredictable and very very hard to react to when in the water. My point is along the lines of self responsibility. I'm sorry but that is pathetic. The Hudson is not for beginners. Period. Once ...

The last rolling hills before the finish. Well let's see how certain runners looked at the very end of their race. This is Mutai, the 2nd place finisher. I was able to capture him in a perfect moment. We can see his upper body is gracefully upright (not arched) and his forward lean is perfect. Now let's see how other runners fared. El Matad...

My adventures as I swim, bike, run, sail and surf my way through life in New York City. Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Remember the Japanese word "kaizen" from the 80s? It was used to refer to how Japan made extraordinary advances in manufacturing productivity. Kaizen means "improvement", and the idea is to make small (or large) improvements every day in our work. The key is one has to do this every day, consistently. Here's how Wikipedia. What does this have to do with sports? If you follow the popular t...

Knuckle up Triathlon: New Sponsor - Quintana Roo bikes
http://jeremycornman.blogspot.com/2012/09/new-sponsor-quintana-roo-bikes.html
Triathlon training and racing, adventures, and my life. Friday, September 28, 2012. New Sponsor - Quintana Roo bikes. Today I had a much anticipated package waiting on my doorstep, a brand new 2013 Quintana Roo Illicito. A few weeks back, an old friend and contact from QR got in touch with me and we started discussing my coming on board, and QR as my potential bike sponsor. This was very exciting for many reasons, but the two most prominent in my mind was that 1:. Much more has been said about the Illici...

Athletic Life NYC: September 2010

My adventures as I swim, bike, run, sail and surf my way through life in New York City. Sunday, September 19, 2010. Thoughts on Le Tour, Tomba and a Movie Invite. It’s 99% fishing and hunting shows. Are hunters really interested in cycling races? Maybe secretly hoping to have them as targets one day? Or do cycling fans hunt and fish between interval workouts for recovery? It’s a mystery to me. The team manager said - "Whether it's one glass or ten, at 5am, it's inexcusable.” Aha! I hope to see you there!

Athletic Life NYC: June 2011
http://nycathlete.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
My adventures as I swim, bike, run, sail and surf my way through life in New York City. Tuesday, June 14, 2011. Think outside the wheel. How's your 401k doing? I have decided the best retirement plan for a long and healthy life is to run 401k/month. That's roughly 100k a week, or 60 miles. I just hope my knees are in agreement. I made this realization after hearing a pre-quarter-end desperate radio ad by Joseph A. Banks: dramatic male voice offering everything 1/2 off! Will it make a difference?
