Chrispy: July 2015

http://www.chrispymm.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html

Wednesday, July 29, 2015. This could be a disaster. After Winter Christmas with a fair few stickies around the cold that John had been nursing has developed into a right cracker, and his cough! He has had a Dr visit, has more pills and potions and lozenges to make dinner unnecessary and still last night he was a one man symphony orchestra with his coughing and blowing. As I listened to him through the night I too started to sneeze. Oh no not me too! I might be keeping him company. Monday, July 27, 2015.

Chrispy: February 2015

http://www.chrispymm.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Friday, February 27, 2015. It was good to get back early though as Prue was coming at 11 for lunch, a birthday cake and a play with Max and a cuddle with Mabel. I had managed to make the cake yesterday after badminton and I left Megan and Max in charge of icing it. Needless to say it was very beautiful. Yesterday I was also getting ready for an influx of badminton ladies who came round when John was at choir to sort out some of the details of the tournament in October up in Noosa. At the weekend we had a...

Chrispy: The next day

http://www.chrispymm.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-next-day.html

Wednesday, August 5, 2015. Champagne seemed to be the order of the day, sun sea and seafood. It was very very pleasant. After we had eaten, a window seat again of course we sat outside at the front of the boat, and took in the spectacular sights even clearer. Did I tell you all my Granfather (dad's Dad) rolled the steel for the Harbour Bridge? Possibly not all of it but I do feel a connection. After the cruise we walked home for tea and shortbread at the apartment and a bit of book reading and resting.

Chrispy: A planned for quieter week

http://www.chrispymm.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-planned-for-quieter-week.html

Monday, August 10, 2015. A planned for quieter week. Last week was finished off with a weekend away playing badminton but this week is very much a rest and recover week. A few domestic chores that have simmered away on the back burner, the freezer is looking quite bare and my plastic box draw quite full. A sure sign that provisions are down. Oh by the way we didn't win at the weekend, didn't even come second but did at least put up a better show than the cricket team of whom we will not speak.

Meanderings: 19000 steps

http://nethergreen.blogspot.com/2015/07/19000-steps.html

Friday, July 10, 2015. Yesterday we mostly went walking. In the morning we walked around the loch out the front of Paul and Carol's place. We were accompanied for part of the way by one of the local border collies who came to say hello and then came along just for fun. In the afternoon we went to a headland and walked through wildflower meadows and then back along the cliff tops. All in all yesterday my pedometer counted 19000 steps. It's just as well we don't have walking plans for today!

Meanderings: February 2015

http://nethergreen.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html

Tuesday, February 24, 2015. A long weekend, just for me. It was quite a sunny weekend, and we had hoped to make further progress, but the wind was cold so we didn't spend too much time outside! This is how the dining room looks now:. Starting by taking down the rails and the frieze by the window:. The cat was deeply suspicious when we started shifting the furniture out the way! Potato and cheese cake with celeriac and polenta chips. Links to this post. Tuesday, February 17, 2015. They have ping pong tabl...

Meanderings: August 2015

http://nethergreen.blogspot.com/2015_08_01_archive.html

Tuesday, August 25, 2015. Visiting Aussies (Part the Second). I was stood in the kitchen on Saturday evening watching a snow-capped mountain slowly make its way from the North towards our house, gradually obscuring the blue sky and sunshine. But we definitely got thunder and lightning and torrential rain and hailstones and a road that believed it was a wild river - and a wet and soggy cat who came in from somewhere at one of the moments when the storm had abated a bit. And we had a lovely time. The s...

Meanderings: Eating from the garden and allotment

http://nethergreen.blogspot.com/2015/08/eating-from-garden-and-allotment.html

Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Eating from the garden and allotment. Someone asked me the other day if we were eating from our garden and allotment yet this year. I was about to say that it hadn't been a very good year for home grown vegetables (which it hasn't) but then I stopped to think about what we are eating from the garden and allotment. It is actually quite a good variety. We have been eating:. Potatoes and onions which the Under Gardener dug up a few weeks ago. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Meanderings: June 2015

http://nethergreen.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html

Tuesday, June 30, 2015. End of last week. From my perspective, the rest of the week proceeded in a calm and orderly manner. There were, from my point of view, no excitements or alarms. All was well - apart from the fact that I need a new favourite pub. Mostly, over the past few days, the sun has shone and the weather has been balmy. Apart from Sunday when it poured more or less all day, until about 4 pm when it was much too late to do anything useful with the glorious sunshine! Links to this post. No tha...

Meanderings: Tupton Parade and Carnival

http://nethergreen.blogspot.com/2015/07/tupton-parade-and-carnival.html

Monday, July 20, 2015. Tupton Parade and Carnival. It was the Tupton Parade and Carnival on Saturday. Tabitha, Gareth and Cally came over to watch the parade and visit the carnival. The Parade comes along Ankerbold Road and turns left onto Queen Victoria Road. You can see it from our drive, but you get a slightly better view if you go out and walk up a couple of metres. I think Cally was a bit startled by the loudness of the marching bands, but otherwise we enjoyed it a lot. It was the Chesterfield Carni...

Meanderings: Christmas in July

http://nethergreen.blogspot.com/2015/07/christmas-in-july.html

Tuesday, July 28, 2015. I haven't hosted a Christmas in July party since 2005 or so. I moved to summer afternoon tea parties in August instead (although I don't seem to have organised one for this year). I did notice that one of the Tupton pubs was having a Christmas in July party last Saturday but we had other plans so didn't investigate further. Thank you to Aidan, Simon and Freyja for a lovely evening. And we hope you will all be very happy in your lovely home. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Meanderings: Tramlines and Trams

http://nethergreen.blogspot.com/2015/07/tramlines-and-trams.html

Monday, July 27, 2015. It was the annual Tramlines music festival in Sheffield this weekend just gone. The Builder and I did not go. Instead we followed our practice of recent years and had Cally with us while her father worked in the Green Room and Tabitha went out carousing. Anyway. Back to the weekend. On Saturday we dropped around to Freyja and Simon's new place and took them off to Costco for a little light (! We took her to the Tram Museum in Crich. We had ice cream, as promised. And on Sunday morn...

Meanderings: Saturday and Sunday, and a quick visit to Monday

http://nethergreen.blogspot.com/2015/07/saturday-and-sunday.html

Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Saturday and Sunday, and a quick visit to Monday. Saturday is the day that most people who are on holiday in Harris leave or arrive. Most of the leavers go out on the early ferry. Many of the arrivers come on the later ferry. This leaves quite a bit of the day when there are few holidaying people on the island. This makes the roads (which are seldom really, really busy) very quiet. Then we went to the Art Cafe in Skoon. We saw lots of wildlife while we were in Scotland. Otters...

http://nethergreen.blogspot.com/2015/07/the-weather-didnt-improve-at-all.html

Saturday, July 11, 2015. The weather didn't improve at all yesterday. It rained fairly persistently all day. At one point I looked at the three day weather forecast for Tarbert. Then I looked at the three day weather forecast for Melbourne. They were pretty much identical! Tupton was looking good, though :-D. It's raining still today. But not as hard. And I think there may be parts of the day when it doesn't rain. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Gluten free Scotch eggs. Our New Life in the Country.

Chrispyman.com - Home

Welcome fellow visitors to the boring as hell Chrispyman.com. If you're looking for the blog style site that I once had, that's been moved to my LiveJournal. Due to nothing more than pure lazyness on my part. All the content that used to be posted up here is now posted over there. I assure you that it's much better my old, super boring, non-commentable, static site. So with that said, feel free to look at the somewhat interesting stuff here. You'll find things like my about. And ofcourse theres my links.
