Maybe someday I'll think of something clever to put here. Friday, January 30, 2009. Maybe the best thing on the Internet ever. A month or so ago, I was alerted to this terrible/awesome infomercial (maybe? For Songsmith, Microsoft's music generating software. In case you didn't watch that amazing piece of video, basically you sing, then the software comes up with complimentary music. For example, Eye of the Tiger? Should be kind of a slow ballad, don't you think? Get ready to slow dance! Rany on the Royals.

Watch Out! Here Comes Kara!: The Final Frontier
http://herecomeskara.blogspot.com/2009/05/final-frontier.html
Maybe someday I'll think of something clever to put here. Friday, May 08, 2009. Yesterday I heard a story on NPR about a Klingon Opera. As an admitted nerd, I have a general appreciation for Star Trek. After all, I did once send Jill a dual-sided picture of Michael Dorn. I guess it makes sense, though. I imagine that the Venn diagram* of people who program phones and people who like Star Trek contains a lot of overlap. Words that are not in the T9 dictionary:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Maybe someday I'll think of something clever to put here. Sunday, March 22, 2009. Another example of how I'm awesome. There are a handful of other Yarises (Yari? In Cedar Falls. There aren't a lot, though, so I get excited when I see one. Also, I know how excited I was to get my car, and I figure they can relate. We have a bond. So naturally, any time I pass one of them, I wave. Because I'm cool. Because I was running. Umm, the title of this post made me laugh out loud :). View my complete profile.

Watch Out! Here Comes Kara!: Now taking applications
http://herecomeskara.blogspot.com/2009/04/now-taking-applications.html
Maybe someday I'll think of something clever to put here. Thursday, April 23, 2009. I have recently decided that while I have many wonderful friends, there is one role that no current friend fills. That role is keeping me from acting like a drunken idiot. Or, at the very least, letting me know that I am acting like a drunken idiot. Here's how a typical night with DK goes:. 1 "I'm just going to have a couple.". 2 "Four is a couple, right? 3 "Beer is delicious! Wait There are some steps missing. 2k DK: "Th...

QuarterLife Plot: December 2007
http://quarterlifeplot.blogspot.com/2007_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 18, 2007. Well, I guess it's been a little while now, but recently. We turned TAB into TABAM! For the second time. We watched the movie Saved! And I was blown away at how many huge concepts surfaced during the course of the movie. We'll try to make the absence of "spoilers" common practice on this blog, but I wanted to bring up a couple of the concepts that seemed to pop out so that we could have some more discussion about them. 1: Who were the "good guys" in the movie? Too We definitel...

QuarterLife Plot: January 2008

Saturday, January 19, 2008. In The Round D. Lately I have been reading "The Problem of Pain" by CS Lewis and was affected by this - which he goes on to talk about for several pages. Wednesday, January 16, 2008. In The Round C. Http:/ www.newsweek.com/id/81388/page/1. At the same time, I find myself at the complete opposite side of the spectrum. How can you truly believe if there are any doubts? If you really have God and Christ at the center of your life, how can you be anything but certain? I don’...

QuarterLife Plot: July 2008
http://quarterlifeplot.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Tuesday, July 22, 2008. I'm Tired Of Serving. Serving other people wears me out. He was covered in mud and sand from the wet and dirty sandbags we were passing (especially from cradling them against his body after his hands couldn't take any more). I pushed back a little before we agreed to call it a night. Truth be told, I was exhausted too. That got me thinking about how we live out our faith in these times where everyone is asking something from us? We find references to those drink offerings througho...
