Watercolor on paper, 9" X 12". I had a little time last night and today to fit in a few watercolor studies. The subjects were pulled from vintage photos found online. A number of years back I painted almost exclusively in acrylic paint. I developed a working method to reproduce the look of egg tempera. I have recently started to paint again in acrylic. Saturday Studies - Nautilus - SOLD. Oil on canvas panel, 8" X 6", 2012. This weeks Saturday Studies is a limited palette painting. I only used 5 colors to make this work, ultramarine blue, raw umber, yellow ochre, raw sienna and white. It was done on a canvas panel that had been tinted subtle gray/umber tone.
