Chronicles of a Country Chick

Thursday, June 13, 2013. The birds are Eastern Phoebes and there are four babies in the nest. I read that phoebes like to build nests under building overhangs, but maybe she felt a kindred spirit with the hens because the nesting boxes are right on the other side of the corner she chose to build her nest. Momma bird is usually close by and doesn't seem to mind me peeking in as long as I don't get too close! It's a little hard to tell in the picture but there is a little bird peeking out! The babies final...

Chronicles of a Country Chick: March 2013

http://www.chroniclesofacountrychick.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html

Saturday, March 30, 2013. I am not sure how it came about but my husband and youngest daughter decided that we needed a pygmy hedgehog to add to the menagerie of critters we already have running amok around here. Just for the record the menagerie includes 2 dogs, 2 cats, 4 fish, 1 rabbit, 12 hens and 2 roosters. And now 1 african pygmy hedgehog baby named Basil. One thing we learned is that despite being prickly hedgehogs love fleece(who doesn't? The nice man at the counter asked. I guess I never thought...

Chronicles of a Country Chick: April 2013

http://www.chroniclesofacountrychick.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html

Saturday, April 27, 2013. This stuff is super, yummy and super easy to make, and is great on yogurt or just by itself for a quick snack! 3 Cups rolled oats. 1/2 tp. sea salt. 1 cup shredded, unsweetened coconut. 1 cup blanched, sliced almonds. 3/4 cup real maple syrup. 1/4 cup oil, melted. 2 tsp pure almond extract. Let it cool and store in a mason jar or other air tight container. Friday, April 26, 2013. Around seven the first chick busted his way out, peeping loudly and wobbling all over the place.

Chronicles of a Country Chick: Chive Blossom Vinegar

http://www.chroniclesofacountrychick.blogspot.com/2013/06/chive-blossom-vinegar.html

Wednesday, June 12, 2013. Chive blossom vinegar has become one of my favorite things since I first made some last year. It is super easy to make. All you need is snip off the chive blossoms, then give them a good rinse because bugs like to hide in the dense blossoms. Chives are full of vitamins A and C and are a powerful antioxidant. Chives are also antibacterial and can help fight off colds and the flu! Another way to get a good dose is of course with the flavored vinegar which makes a great vinaigrette!

chronicles of a confused Kenyan

Chronicles of a confused Kenyan. Life for a Kenyan in Uganda can be quite boring, uneventful, mundane or otherwise befret of interesting adjectives to describe it only if you live under a disproportionately large rock. Friday, March 16, 2012. Sunday, February 15, 2009. Some time ago, Baz wrote a brilliant blog on editor-writer wars. The reason for this is, of course, what editors do. They EDIT, and by doing that, transform whatever magic you may have thought you've woven into something else. Anyway, When...

Chronicles of a Corporate Dropout

Chronicles of a Corporate Dropout. Friday, 15 November 2013. There's Nothing You Can Know That Isn't Known. Thursday, 3 May 2012. Sorry this is a fragment. It's an old unfinished post I found in my drafts. Thought I would hit publish simply to record the thoughts. My way of trying. And it's hard too; shooting in the dark and not knowing whether it will lead anywhere but the same start sign. Not knowing whether I am doing something fundamentally wrong or just refining my act. Keeping up the be...Firstly I...

The Cosmonut Strikes Back | Emma Goldman's materialistic lovechild

The Cosmonut Strikes Back. Emma Goldman's materialistic lovechild. My beer is taunting me. June 10, 2011. I bought myself a sixer of Magic Hat No. 9 yesterday, and I discovered that the bottlecaps include little phrases on them. My first one said. 8220;You need to write more”. 8220;Heed the Spirit. If You can Hear It”. 8220;Don’t hex what’s best”. My personal favorite read. 8220;You were expecting something funny? It’s nice to see an alcoholic beverage sarcastically tell me to improve myself. Chronicles of a Country Girl

Weekly Dose of George. Sunday, February 4, 2018. So I lie to make excuses. No, I don't. It's just that I can't get this song out of my head. The lyrics have nothing to do with me. (I don't lie to make excuses and I don't tend to blame everybody else). But it's a cool tune and right now, this is my current favorite station on Pandora. It's by Susie Suh and there's a link to the song at the end of this post. Because I like to share. Then a Tufted titmouse came along and shooed him away. Mine Mine. Mine.

Chronicles of a Couple | A brazilian-german coproduction

Chronicles of a Couple. As my departure for Paris was drawing closer I was actually looking forward to the new experience that would be skype sex . I sure like real sex better than its digital offspring but why not try something different if you have the opportunity or in our case if it is even your only option to have any sex? Just to give an example, this is how I see my mom on skype…. So that’s the most obvious reason why cyber sex doesn’t seem like a really good idea after all. Another concern are yo...
