Chronicles of the Hitched and Aimless. Friday, June 29, 2012. I love this "city" and how easy it is to get around and the fact that the campground is so close. We peddled in midday. Wandered some of the shops. Looked at some classic cars that cruised in. Then found our way down to a public fishing pier. Chronicles of the Hitched and Aimless. Tuesday, October 9, 2012. From the Trail - Powell Point. It is only 30 miles ride from Ruby's Inn. We rode north on Hwy 22 then turned on Dixie NF road 132 toward Pine Lake. The roads are well marked. At the top of Forest Road 132 (which used to be an old logging road) there is the turn off for Powell Point. Tree roots stretch across the road and there were several places of deep standing water and it hasn't rained for weeks. That is Bryce in a thin layer to the left.

This doesn't really show scale but it was HUGE and barren, and went for a long distance. As we were traveling on the forest roads, we saw lots of campers in the forest, with ATV's and some were preparing for hunting season which opened August 20th. Chronicles of the Hitched and Aimless. Saturday, September 22, 2012. Somehow Maria and I were able to talk our husbands into hiking with us in Bryce Canyon NP. We started out at Bryce Point at about 9 am. The temperature was crisp and the skies were hazy. From fire smoke drifting down from Idaho. Last year I did the Tropic portion by myself. It was nice to approach this from a different trail. Our friends Maria and Roger at the window. Windows that will become future hoodoos. Friday, September 21, 2012.

Then this is almost the most perfect race bib ever! Side note: they were having audio problems, and the microphone kept cutting in and out. During the singing of the National Anthem, the crowd just started singing along whenever the audio stopped. It was kind of awesome. Before this race, my goal for the whole race season.
