Chuck's Adventures: Biking the Lower Suwannee NWR
http://chucksadventures.blogspot.com/2009/05/biking-lower-suwannee-nwr.html
Adventure is not outside man, but within, for you cannot cross the sea by simply staring at the water. Friday, May 1, 2009. Biking the Lower Suwannee NWR. And three times since have done day paddles on this beautiful river. The refuge is 10 miles from Cedar Key along County Road 347. The nine mile limerock Nature Drive is perfect for biking - a bit bumpy in places, but fat tires handle it well - and few cars travel the road and their speed limit is 25, so it felt safe. Chuck's Adventures: Biking Cedar Key, Florida
http://chucksadventures.blogspot.com/2009/04/biking-cedar-key-florida.html
Adventure is not outside man, but within, for you cannot cross the sea by simply staring at the water. Friday, April 24, 2009. Biking Cedar Key, Florida. Yesterday we biked 13 miles through Cedar Key, traveling nearly every street in the town. Cedar Key is actually several islands (keys) connected by bridges, so we biked three or four different keys on the route. Below are some of the sights we encountered. Like many coastal communities, electric golf carts are prevalent, and hence this sign. There are 5...

http://chucksadventures.blogspot.com/2013/10/biking-minnesotas-root-river-state-trail.html
Adventure is not outside man, but within, for you cannot cross the sea by simply staring at the water. Friday, October 4, 2013. Biking Minnesota's Root River State Trail. The Root River State Trail. Is a paved, 42 mile trail that mostly follows an old railroad right-of-way, except for the final 5 miles or so into Houston, the only section that is a bit hilly since it isn't an old rail line. From west to east, the trail runs through Fountain, Lanesboro, Whalan, Peterson, Rushford, and Houston. Phalt is in...
Chuck's Adventures: Glenwood Canyon Trail (Lower section)
http://chucksadventures.blogspot.com/2007/09/glenwood-canyon-trail.html
Adventure is not outside man, but within, for you cannot cross the sea by simply staring at the water. Saturday, September 1, 2007. Glenwood Canyon Trail (Lower section). It is a feat of engineering marvel (in fact winning an award in 1993) that the canyon has been developed in such a well thought out manner that a bike trail, an Interstate highway, and a railroad mainline, all travel the narrow Glenwood Canyon with minimal disturbance to the Colorado River and the canyon. This is indeed one of the premi...

Goldenrod's thoughts: April 2010
http://goldenrodsthoughts.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 29, 2010. The "Forever" stamp . part two. Craig, in his comment to my first post on this stamp, asked if he could see a picture of it. Well, here it is, Craig. I took it right off of the USPS website . . Btw, has a lot of background info on this stamp. I'll be responding to all comments on that first post later, after I've had a chance to check through my records and see what I actually DID pay for those initial stamps. My memory was thinking 44 cents, but I'll look it up . Work are piles...

NOT ALL WHO WANDER ARE LOST. Tuesday, March 16, 2010. Video Log of The South Breitenbush Trail to Jefferson Park. CLICK ON THE TITLE OF THIS POST TO VIEW THE VIDEO. We were armed with deet and a tent with a fly, so we were able to minimize the damage to our flesh. But, in retrospect, I would do it all over again, because the experience completely outweighed the cost. If anyone wants to go, just let me know and I'll take you up this next summer. Bring your camera! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). The History o...

NOT ALL WHO WANDER ARE LOST. Monday, October 11, 2010. Remembering Ray McMahon: "One of the Good Guys". I will always admire Ray and hold him up in my life as a superior example of what it means to stand in the gap for the sake of what is right, good, and true. He will, for the rest of my life, be my life example of Philippians 2:3, where the Apostle Paul said, ".consider other's interests more important than your own.". Saturday, October 2, 2010. The John Muir Trail: A Hike To Remember The Poor. I have ...

Llama Walker: He is There and He is not Silent
http://joestaub.blogspot.com/2011/01/he-is-there-and-he-is-not-silent.html
NOT ALL WHO WANDER ARE LOST. Tuesday, January 11, 2011. He is There and He is not Silent. Many years ago I read a book by Francis Schaffer entitled, "He is There and He is not Silent." It is a philosophical treatment of the existence of God. Schaffer's argument is that God is real and he reveals himself to us in a variety of ways. However, he may not reveal himself as we would like. Is it any wonder that Christians tend to have a great appreciation for nature and wilderness education? Indeed, when I want...

NOT ALL WHO WANDER ARE LOST. Wednesday, December 2, 2009. Photologue of My Experience Backpacking The Sierras In October 2009. The trail up to Bishop Pass was populated with many day hikers. I was planning on hiking about 5 miles to one of the lakes below the pass and then the next day continue my 6o mile loop hike back to the trail head. As you can see, the scenery along the pass trail is excellent. On the left is Teresa, aka "Wandering Hippie" and to the right is Kellie, aka "Hippie Longstockings".

Here are Thomas and Ishai enjoying a nice mexican dinner with us in Canby. They don't have Mexican restaurants in Israel! While staying with us, Ishai and Thomas replenished their food supply for the last stretch. Notice the diet!

Llama Walker: June 2009

NOT ALL WHO WANDER ARE LOST. Monday, June 22, 2009. I usually try to stay out of commenting on politics and focus my attention on the spiritual/religious side of things. But, this is one of those few occasions when I just can’t stay out of the game. Barak Obama has been getting hammered by a lot folks these days for some of his recent activities and speeches. My examination of the facts tells me that these folks are doing some spin doctoring to support their own agenda. And, I think I know what it is.

Chuck's Afghanistan Adventure
Monday, January 5, 2009. I mentioned earlier I had two more stories for this blog. After giving it a few days of consideration, I’ve decided to relate only one final narrative. From my journal, 16 September 2008:. By the time we arrived, a few Marines and a handful of Afghans were standing thirty or so feet from the IED, pointing at it. A Marine Staff Sergeant (Messenger) and I approached the device, which was wrapped in burlap, and began investigating. Once we were sure it was an IED, I left Mes...The i...
