Cassandra Barney: Behold Thy Son
http://churningsandburnings.blogspot.com/2015/03/behold-thy-son.html
Sunday, March 1, 2015. Doubt and anger burst as I snapped my paintbrush in half. That act of artistic passion left me with a palm full of blood, a lot of questions and an unfinished painting. After more contemplation and prayers, I read John 19, 26-28 again. I thought about how these scriptures testify to me of Christ's tenderness and compassion. I love that he didn't overlook his mother despite the pain and anguish that He suffered. The first few days of painting went well. I started with more than ...

Monday, September 15, 2008. Tell me about something you have gratitude for, like an answer to a prayer. Or give me a request for what you would like to be protected from or what you thirst for. Send it to me via email cassandrabarney@gmail.com. Or to this blog and I might paint your wish in a retablo. All requests must be sent before October 4. The requests I've received so far are FANTASTIC. Thank you! The painting above was inspired by this email:. Your idea could be painted here. A wynn wynn situation.

http://churningsandburnings.blogspot.com/2010/04/as-i-thought-about-painting.html
Monday, April 19, 2010. As I thought about painting mothers/motherhood some months back, it seemed like it would be a nice thing to do. I knew that I would get interesting, heartfelt stories that I'd enjoy painting. What I didn't realise was how valuable it's been to me. It's kind of like I've been taking a class on what makes a great mother and painting is how I study. I have read and reread stories of the unselfish sacrifices, of women who never complained about their duties (what? I used to joke about...
Cassandra Barney: Invitation for Collaboration
http://churningsandburnings.blogspot.com/2008/09/invitation-for-collaboration.html
Friday, September 12, 2008. Sometimes I wish paintings had powers. I wish they could right what is wrong. I was talking to a girl the other night who had a streak of bad luck with fire. In my mind I painted her with fire in one hand and water in the other, wishing to give her balance. I’d seen. I imagined myself a retablista, painting offerings of thanks. Ex-voto. Short for ex voto suscepto, "from the vow made" or in gratitude or devotion. So if you are interested, send me. September 15, 2008 at 6:26 PM.

From the Sketchbook of Bridget Smith: winter boots
http://bridgetsartworld.blogspot.com/2012/03/winter-boots.html
I finished them months ago, but I have no good reason as to why I haven't put any pictures up yet. I found the idea here on pinterest. So, like most of my projects, these boots took a little more time than I had originally planned, but I am so happy with how they turned out, and Lynlee absolutely loves them. Her favorite way to wear them is on her hands. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Where to find my art. Interested in getting your hands on an original from Bridget's Sketchbook? What I am up to:.

DidJa' Do 40 adventures to celebrate 40 years. Thursday, July 7, 2011. Adventure #37: Paint My Childhood Rocker. Mike Swenson aka, the Clever Craftsman, paints furniture in these amazing colors that cry out my name every time I drive by his house and the door to his workshop is open. The sight of torquoise, lime green, orange, yellow and red make me start to salivate. I have added several pieces to my house like the lime green telephone chair that I LOVE and now sits in my entry way. We let it dry for a ...

From the Sketchbook of Bridget Smith: Nautical Names
http://bridgetsartworld.blogspot.com/2012/05/nautical-names.html
So, I am not sure if this is the beginning of another alphabet series or not, but I had a commission recently from my etsy shop to create a name design but with a nautical theme, instead of my usual animals. It really has been amazing me to to see how big the interest is for nautical themed art. Maybe I need to move to the coast to see what this is all about! I love the nautical alphabets. I cant figure out what the compass is with the letter E. May 19, 2012 at 4:42 PM. Its E for East! What I am up to:.

Sushi booties and onsies. I have to say that I feel like I am going to a lot of baby showers these days, and I am SUPER excited for the one I am going to go to tomorrow. My brother (a fellow sushi lover) served as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For two years in Japan. (So did I! If you didn't know.) And after 10 long years of trying to have a baby, he and his wife are happy to be expecting a baby boy this next month! So, I hope that she likes it! Oh and P....

U is for urchin. Just incase anybody is wondering, that funny little guy on top is an umbrella bird. There aren't many animals that start with the letter "u". Hope you have a great day! Thursday, November 18, 2004. Some thoughts that could show connection between Gyan and astrology/numerology:. The law of karma is one of the prime movers of the world. Souls and matter interact based on this law. Souls are pro-active and reactive while matter is only reactive in nature. Empirically, it should be possible to detect patterns in numbers/planets and match them with existing events and show a relationship. This implies that prediction of events is possible.
