Of all life's little happenings! Thursday, 13 November 2014. Hey, just a quick update. There was no snow in the forecast but we got this white stuff drift down all morning (mist, they said but it sure resembled snow) . only enough to just dust the ground and the tips of the trees . Last year this same scene looked like this on November 4th, 9 days earlier . Okay, a slightly different angle. And another picture from today (13th Nov) . Of all life's little happenings! Wednesday, 29 January 2014. Wow, only 8 days since I last posted. Must be a recent record! Did I tell you I signed up for snowshoeing? We recently had some ice fog which coated the trees in a ghostly white . especially the trees hung with witches' hair (a lichen)! Not much of the hair like lichen on the above trees. The sun peeked through for this picture (love the dark sky in the background) . So I'll love you and leave you and save you eye strain . Beatrice P. Boyd.

Of all life's little happenings! Saturday, 19 July 2014. A series of thunder showers are moving through today. The sun will come out, then all goes dark for a while, then a cloud burst. "Violent thunderstorms" are forecast for later in the day with the possibility of hail. I pray no hail . I don't want my garden to get shredded or . We had rain through the night. Yay! A couple of interesting bugs have made their appearance . Looks like a toad, this bug! Are polka-dots back in? And found these ant hills .

Of all life's little happenings! Thursday, 26 June 2014. Life has been rolling along at a relatively slow place these days. Garden wise, the potatoes and garlic are growing great guns but nothing else! Carrots get mowed down immediately they pop up their wee heads (by the slugs) and the beans just about as fast. Sigh. So many leaves on the ground the whole property is gold and orange with the odd bit of red thrown in. I've been trying to get things put to bed bit by bit. For some reason my heart doesn't seem to be in it like other years. Maybe because I've been busy preparing for the long cold winter to come. Regardless, yesterday I got a bit done. Thursday, January 30, 2014. Thursday and a Snowy Owl. The weather has been bitter cold here, and not over the freezing mark for days. There is promise of some warmth in the forecast soon! It was a dark gray day, and these eagles were about 250 - 300 ft. away up high in this Sycamore tree. very cold here this morning. At 6:30 it was -6º. More snow on the way. Thursday, April 24, 2014. My little Bantam hen Marigold hatched out 3 chicks on Easter Sunday. They are adorable, and I sure won't have trouble remembering their birthdays. I took a walk on the creek trail this afternoon, and really didn't see much. The skunk cabbage is out and some wild onions. That was all. Not even any wildlife. We've had some warm days, but no warm rain yet, and Tuesday we had snow again, so things are still hibernating I guess. Hope all is going well for everyone. Looking upstream o...

Sunday, April 13, 2014. Sunday morning and the creek trail. Most of these shots were taken along the creek trail I walk. It is a gorgeous day, although really windy, and a good time to survey the damage done after the ice jam on the creek this winter. This is the creek looking West, or downstream. That tree leaning over the water is a Sycamore tree, and has been leaning like this for many years. Looking upstream or East. The only wildlife I saw were these two male Mallard ducks. No Skunk Cabbage yet.

Sunday, June 29, 2014. I have had 3 Chipmunks spending time beneath my bird feeders. I don't think this one can possibly get any more sunflower seeds in his pouches. Maple leaves forming have the most beautiful red color. One pair of my homing pigeons have decided to nest in the rafters of the barn, and these are their first offspring. I really don't have room for any more, but The parents won't come back to their pen inside. sigh. Chicory is in full bloom, and it is one of my summer time favorite flowers.
