Washington City Mission Success Stories: January 2010
http://washingtoncitymission.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 15, 2010. A Family is Restored. What does the Washington City Mission mean to my husband Paul and me? It was a beam of light at the end of the road; a place that brings light (life) back to those who are down and out with no place to go. I knew nothing about the Mission until Paul went there. I certainly did not know then that it would change my life forever! So, if you feel you or someone you love has lost it all and are at the end of the road, go to the red brick building called Washing...

Washington City Mission Success Stories: August 2009
http://washingtoncitymission.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Tuesday, August 11, 2009. I’ve come to believe that there are four basic needs that must be met in order for humans to have a relatively happy and satisfying life. 183; A need to live. Not just to exist. 183; A need to learn. 183; A need to love. 183; A need to be significant or have purpose. Then finally, after the odd jobs ran out (I was a drunk, no one in their right mind would hire me) I surrendered. I cried out for help. I came to believe that a power greater than myself could restore me to sanity.
WashCityMission: February 2010
http://washcitymission.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html
Thursday, February 18, 2010. Come and be Safe and Warm. In the last ten years the cost of heating a home with fuel oil has more than doubled. Heating a home with electricity has risen in cost by one third. Wages have not kept pace. On top of this, the recent surge in unemployment has forced more people out of their homes to live in cars, with friends and anywhere they can. We offer the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all who hunger and thirst for the blessing and love of God. Don't like to give online?

Washington City Mission Success Stories: Steve Adams "There has to be more to life than this"
http://washingtoncitymission.blogspot.com/2009/10/steve-adams-there-has-to-be-more-to.html
Wednesday, October 21, 2009. Steve Adams "There has to be more to life than this". Steve Adams will never forget the events of June 11th,1996. It was a Tuesday and began the way most other days had for Steve in recent years. He awoke with the same ache inside that demanded plenty of the drug he was currently using. Then someone said in a powerful, pure voice, “There has to be more to life than this.”. There was no one else in the room but Steve, but as soon as he heard the voice he could not resist getti...

WashCityMission: June 2011

Wednesday, June 15, 2011. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. As far as I know we have never run out of food to serve our guests in our 70 year history. Isn't that remarkable! But sometimes food supplies run low and we need to let our friends know. When I see people coming here for the first time I realize the value the service the Mission provides. Some people go days without eating. They are weak and totally worn out, unable to cope. Blessed are th...
