A good, hot meal can be the first step to renewal. Once we meet the physical needs of our residents, we can address their other needs: housing, employment, income, drug/alcohol recovery, and spirituality. Besides our residents, anyone in the region (regardless of income) may come and eat in our dining room. We serve nutritious meals three hundred sixty-five days per year. Then finally, after the odd jobs ran out (I was a drunk, no one in their right mind would hire me) I surrendered. I cried out for help.
