We went to visit my family up in Doncaster over the easter hols. My bigger nephews were’t interested in an outdoor adventure away from their screens so my sister and I took the small ones to RSPB Old Moor. We’ve not visited any of the RSPB reserves before so this was quite exciting. We only managed to walk around half of the reserve before the small people started complaining and we had to head off for lunch back at our parents. If it had been a warmer day we’d have taken a picnic! H loved it and asked i...

We all know that mini is a little bit dinosaur mad. For her birthday she got some awesome dinosaur tights which she wears all the time no matter what dress she is wearing! This was her latest dress/dino tights combo for one of her little friends parties! She’s been bugging me for AGES to make her a dinosaur T-shirt, so I bloomin well did! Here she’s sporting her pink polka dot Parasaurolophus. There will be a triceratops to add to the dinosaur family! These have been quite popular through my facebook page.

How to make a Queen Elsa Peg Doll. So, do you wanna build an Elsa? Well, here’s how! A peg, felt pens, a scrap of pale blue felt, a scrap of blue shimmery cape fabric (I used organza), yellow wool, a small (15cm) beige pipe cleaner , PVA glue and blue glitter. 1) Draw Queen Elsa a face and colour the top of her head and around the back and sides in yellow. 2) Glue the felt scrap around Elsa’s body to make her dress. 4) Stick the cape onto the back of Elsa’s dress using a little blob of glue. Sorry its be...

At the other end of the scale, on Sunday I also finished a basket of tiny cats, from a kit which Caitlin insisted on buying at the last quilt show we went to (Pentrich Patchers, in June this year). They were fiddly to make, but she’s delighted with them.

A glimpse into my day...

A glimpse into my day. Oh yeah, my first time in New Mexico. This is Claire acting all silly for the camera. She was glad to be in NM because that meant she could get out of the car. This is my cousin, Brittany. She turned 16 and had a party in Carlsbad, NM, so I went with my aunt to the party. This is the gift I made for her. I specially painted the pottery to match her bedroom. It is a jewelry box. I can't wait to turn 16. I did manage to get a few pieces of candy from that pinata. On the way to Britta...

Claire's Blog-Media and Environmental Confli. Sunday, May 9, 2010. Mississippi River Water Pollution. The Mississippi cuts through America’s mid-section and often serves as a delineator between east and west. As the longest river in the United States, the potential exists for a great deal of pollution between its headwaters in Minnesota and its basin in the Gulf of Mexico. Concern over the water quality of the Mississippi River first came to public view following World War II. An increase in populati...

Easy Does It

Saturday, August 4, 2012. I have never used ground chicken before and needed to experiment with it. I had bought this Cajun Seasoning when I was in Charleston S.C. to visit my family, and have not had the chance to try it out. So why not now if Im going to do experimenting right? These burgers are pretty spicy so test your seasoning before using it, if you're not really into spicy food. It was a sinus clearing cajunfied kinda supper! I hope ya'll will enjoy it as much as we did. What you will need:.
