CLARA FICATION

To leave the world a bit better. Thursday, March 11, 2010. Land with No Trees. There were three large oak trees in the yard of my childhood home. Trees that were easily more than 200 years old and more than 100 feet tall. The trunk was so big that I couldn’t wrap my arms around it and have my hands touch. I spent my childhood around trees, and I know what it is like to lay in the shadow of a tree and dreaming of the future. The trees were cut down for fire wood and to plant sugar cane. CLARA FICATION: February 2010

http://www.clarafy.blogspot.com/2010_02_01_archive.html

To leave the world a bit better. Monday, February 22, 2010. My role is somewhat unglamorous as it involves mostly sitting in front of a computer or answering the phone; yet it is a key component of registering the orphanages and in the short and long term establishing a system of monitoring the children that are housed there. Day to day my job includes data entry, data analysis, and mapping of orphanage locations. Thursday, February 18, 2010. When the rain comes. That even if our tarps fell down, we had ...

To leave the world a bit better. Thursday, May 21, 2009. The Map in My Head. I love maps.  . I do  . I love getting to see where places are, where I can go, how to get there, and imaging what it might look like.  . When I was as young as 12 I was the designated navigator on car trips with my mother, the summer we drove form. I read the map.  . I found the rest stops, hotels, and interesting little places to see.  . I have had a map hanging on the way of my room since I was about the same age.  . When I f...

http://www.clarafy.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html

To leave the world a bit better. Saturday, October 11, 2008. Phases of the Moon. At the end of September, everyone in Senegal was waiting for the new moon and the end of the holy month of Ramadan. It was overcast on the first night so the holiday, called Eid-al-Fitr in most countries but Korite in Senegal, which celebrates the end of the fast was called for the second night. Andy and Mandy Take On the World. Tuesday, August 07, 2007. Well, we didn't have much time to write postcards since it was such a quick trip, but hopefully this blog will be a suitable replacement. Our friend Arnaldo then drove us up to his home in Venice. What a strange and beautiful place! So, back to life in London, we are happy to be home and in the comforts of routine. It's been a very cold summer, so we were glad to get away, but it is finally warming up a bit here. Hope all of you are well.

Andy and Mandy Take On the World. Monday, May 05, 2008. I know it's a bit random, but here's just a few photos of things happening in our life. . I've been playing around with some of the toys on the photo editing program we have. These are just some of the things we see every day. Although, they don't normally look this cool. Andy's parents with their host (Priscilla) for the three months they were here. We had a farewell dinner together before they left. Hope all of you are well and we'll see you soon!

Andy and Mandy Take On the World. Wednesday, February 04, 2009. Well, life has been a wonderful combination of busy, fun, and full of change! I'm so happy for a quiet moment to try and catch up with life. So where did I leave off. Christmas came and went very quickly, but we were happy to have several excuses to eat delicious meals, drink too much wine, and laugh late into the night at several family and friend gatherings during the season. The salon and spa where I work. Winter on the farm.

We get home on August 19 and we hope to catch-up with everyone soon. We'll post some pictures of our recent travels soon, so keep posted. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

CLARA FICATION EN FRANCAIS. Wednesday, August 22, 2007. Hier, j’étais au Kenya. Sunday, August 12, 2007. Thursday, August 2, 2007.
