Yesterday had headwinds, but, again, the threatening clouds stayed just that - threatening. Well, it was Fet...

A Journal of a Cross Country Adventure by Bicycle (Summer 2012). Saturday, June 30, 2012. Day Fourteen: Hot Springs, MT. A quick post (done in the morning before leaving! So I can try to catch up with these blogs. The ride was very scenic, as we mostly stayed along side the river (the Thompson River in Thompson, not sure if its named changed as we went through other towns, like Plains). Already we're getting a sense of the vastness of this State. Long desolate stretches, huge ranches and fields a...But a...

A Journal of a Cross Country Adventure by Bicycle (Summer 2012). Saturday, September 8, 2012. Day 85: Home, Sweet Home (or, New York, just like I pictured it! I did it. Wow. The sense of achievement really didn't hit me until I was crossing the George Washington Bridge. I then thought of starting this journey, 85 days and almost 4,000 miles ago, and was a bit overwhelmed, emotionally, by the scope of it all. Although my story is going to be that a gust of wind blew something into my eye. I'll post a cumu...

A Journal of a Cross Country Adventure by Bicycle (Summer 2012). Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Day 46: Watertown, SD. So, as a coda to staying with Lillie and David last night in Doland - which was lovely, as they were very gracious and generous hosts - it turns out that their son, Justin, who just got married to Kat this past Thursday, manages Roger's Motel! So they inadvertently took a paying customer away from their own son by offering to put me up. Tomorrow is a new month and a new state! I pursued this li...

But it may have been an aberration is my thinking. Tomorrow ta...Speak...

A Journal of a Cross Country Adventure by Bicycle (Summer 2012). Saturday, September 8, 2012. Day 84: West Point, NY. As has often been the case during this trip, the day's biking was really a tale of two very different rides. Leaving Rhinebeck, and mostly taking back roads suggested by this excellent site ( www.roberts-1.com/bikehudson. For those not in the know, I live at 225 West 106th Street, and the building, among its denizens, is often referred to simply as "225"). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Ato...
