coffeetraps

Can you believe it? Heating tank mounted and fuel in it, heating unit installed, plumbing started, electrical started, cabinets in, appliances moved inside! Last of August 12. Floor as you enter the house. All partitioning in the house is complete! Tomorrow we start the rough plumbing. Now I know what I will look like when I'm 80. More of August 12. Ok, these pictures are backwards in order. Oh well. 5 hours of sanding the floor creates a sandstorm in the house! The living room sanding begins.

http://www.coffeetraps.blogspot.com/2010/08/august-12-2010.html

August 12, 2010. Romay throwing her corn on the cob. We started seeing who could throw their cob the highest on a tree. So far Jason has Romay and I trying to beat his branch. Dinner on the run-brats, corn on the cob and zucchini with butter. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Pin Your Place on the Map. Last of August 12. More of August 12. August 12, 2010. Gram Makes Another Visit. We try to keep Gram's visits a surprise anymore. Of course we keep it from Romay and mainly, its a huge test on Jay's and I's endurance to keep it hidden. BUT, we did it yet again! No spills on information on our part and the wait is worth it all, you know, the 10 seconds of surprise on the child's face. We're moved into our place on the Yukon River, the Huntington's have us spolied, huge windows that give us a priceless vista. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Gram Makes Another Visit.

Alaskanhavilands: Andrew, Holly, Denise, and Becca. We reside in both White Mountain and Anchorage. Saturday, June 28, 2008. Visiting artists this spring! Our school hosted a writer, Therese, who taught a two week writing workshop to our students. The residence ended with an evening of readings in the gymnasium. Most of our students read a sampling of their poetry and stories. March brings the Iditarod right through White Mountain and it is an exciting time! Way to go Rick! Tuesday, June 24, 2008. The La...

Wednesday, May 27, 2009. More Fun In Galena. Here is one of my favorite photos of David. Kiva and him are so cute together! We took Kiva and Berry for a walk and it was so funny. Berry would not have anything to do with Kiva because she's still a puppy who is hyper. Hmmm.made me thankful for how much Berry has matured. Once they got outside Berry wanted to Kiva to chase her so she ran and ran and ran. David was so proud of Kiva for going into the water. Berry was a good teacher! Summer Vacation in Galena.

Alaska Adventures: December 2008

http://jeniinalaska.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html

Monday, December 29, 2008. Well, I had one of my dreams come true! I got to mush! Jason and Myra know John Corta who ran the Iditarod twice. He said he was willing to take me. I didn't know it was 25 below in Galena when we went. We harnessed the dogs. I learned how to do it and harnessed two! All the dogs were so friendly. Jason took his own team of 6 or so dogs and I sat in John's sled for part of the time. The take off was exhilarating! It was so cool! I went back into the sled and put hand warmers in...

Alaskanhavilands: Andrew, Holly, Denise, and Becca. We reside in both White Mountain and Anchorage. Sunday, January 04, 2009. A Christmas morning tradition is Ommie's coffeecake! Ommie was my great grand-mother (mom's side) whom I had the gift of knowing until I was in the 7th grade. The recipe is delicious and this year we added dried blueberries and dried cherries to it! Breakfast must be eaten before any gifts are opened! Charice (our adopted daughter) and Becca! Does it look like a geeky family table?

Alaskanhavilands: Andrew, Holly, Denise, and Becca. We reside in both White Mountain and Anchorage. Sunday, July 22, 2007. 2nd trip - Dipnetting on the Kenai. We headed out of Anchorage at 4:30 am on a Wednesday morning (7/18) with Holly taking the day off from work! We had the high tide pegged about 8 am. As the tide started going out Rudy caught a fish about 9 am. All of a sudden it seemed like people were shoulder to shoulder and fish were starting to pop out of the water with a lot of speed. The fish...

Alaskanhavilands: Andrew, Holly, Denise, and Becca. We reside in both White Mountain and Anchorage. Sunday, August 05, 2007. One fish, Two fish, Old fish, New fish. Once we began looking at putting away our fresh fish I decided I needed to clear out some freezer space. I still had some wonderful looking silvers from last fall so I decided to make pickled salmon. The wonderful recipe I use is from Teresa Hickerson! The first step is to cube and salt the fish. Boy oh boy - three more days until it is ready!

Alaskanhavilands: Andrew, Holly, Denise, and Becca. We reside in both White Mountain and Anchorage. Saturday, April 25, 2009. The weather has turned into a monster. For the past five days we have had wet snow falling from the sky. Half the time it has flown horizontally. The snow builds up and then slides off the roof. It falls and covers the deck and then turns to slush. At times it is mixed with rain. Niko spent her time keeping a close eye on me! Tuesday, April 21, 2009. Sunshine, a chair, a grill.
