Friday, August 14, 2009. Vacation" to San Diego. I'm a bit behind on my blogging, so here's the Cliff Notes version of what happened, at least what I can remember! It was great to be home but weird at the same time. I think not having Darin and Shanthi there threw me off. But all in all it was great to sleep in my own bed! The reunion was great. Definitely a strange experience but in a good way. I'd go to another one in about 10 years! Here's me, Shelle, Kathy and Lisa. Here's me and Scott Karl.

Saturday, July 25, 2009. I have wanted to go to Boulder since we got here. I've heard really good things about it. We also read that Celestial Seasonings has their factory there and does tours. Sleepytime Bear here we come! In fact, that was our first stop of the day. We got signed up for the Honey Vanilla Chamomile tour at 12:15 and headed to try some samples while we waited. We thought it came 10.08 but later found out that it wasn't a "real" snow by Colorado standards. Either way it was still fun to play in and really cold to us! Cairo and then some. Saturday, October 18, 2008. Cairo was supposed to be the "Paris on the Nile" just Like Manila was supposed to be the "Paris of Southeast Asia". The two cities have a lot in common: Soaring populations, corrupt governments, and crumbling infrastructure. The difference is that the beauty of Manila was destroyed by the Japanese and the drab buildings of Metro Manila today are evidence of that while Cairo was destroyed by an Egyptian centrally planned military government.
