Conversations with Grant

My charming son, Grant, has inspired this blog. Its main purpose is to pass on the conversations I and others have with him. His thoughts are funny, clever, and sometimes extremely inspiring. I hope you enjoy his humor and wisdom as much as I do. Maybe even learn a thing or two. Monday, August 22, 2011. How was your first day of school? It was pretty awesome. What did you do? Oh yea. What did you make? What did the other kids make? And you made a single-celled organism? Yea, like that. Why is that funny?

I love this clip of Matt Damon defending teachers to a reporter from Reason TV. I'm sure you've already seen it but watch it again anyway. You tell 'em Will Hunting.

Isaiah 59:11: July 2009

http://isaiah5911.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

We all (Spencer, Christin, Collin, and Bailey) growl like bears. I'll admit, most of my parenting techniques are not from a book. Most of the time, I just try something and if it doesn't work, or stops working after a while, I move on to something else. The priorities in our house, when it comes to discipline, are to disciple out of love, not anger, and to teach Collin to grow up to be an awesome man of God. I like the ideas presented in most of the books, but I just can't seem to make them work! I reall...

Isaiah 59:11: February 2011

http://isaiah5911.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html

We all (Spencer, Christin, Collin, and Bailey) growl like bears. I just need to take a moment and share some frustration, but first, a little back story. Once upon a time, less than a year ago, I started running. Then I got inspired to run a half marathon. I completed it, and did it faster than I thought I could! The training was tough, but I made it through and accomplished a huge goal. Also, I fell back in love with running! I could run pain free! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
