The Cookbook Junkie: The cake that fought me all the way
http://cookbookjunkie.blogspot.com/2006/01/cake-that-fought-me-all-way.html
Sunday, January 15, 2006. The cake that fought me all the way. The Ugly Binder, from the internet, Recipezaar. NOTE: This cake was actually called White Almond Sour Cream Wedding Cake and called for white cake, 8 egg whites instead of 6 whole eggs and instead of 3 teaspoons of vanilla, use 2 teaspoons vanilla and 2 teaspoons almond extract. This is the way I made it. I used Duncan Hines Yellow Cake mix for the yellow layer and Duncan Hines Fudge Cake mix for the chocolate layer. 1 1/2 teaspoons salt.
The Cookbook Junkie: Getting better at this
http://cookbookjunkie.blogspot.com/2013/01/getting-better-at-this.html
Sunday, January 13, 2013. Getting better at this. I researched putting camo on a cake rather thoroughly - it's not as easy as it looks, not for someone with very limited artistic talent. I saw a lot of poor examples of it. I ended up doing a buttercream transfer (my go-to cake trick), using a pattern I copied off of Nick's coat, and I smoothed it out with Viva paper towel. I used the Chocolate Fudge Cake. Recipe, 1 1/2 times the recipe for a half sheet cake. I used the Easy Buttercream. I like the way of...

Melt the chocolate chips in a saucepan set over very low heat or in the micr...

Wednesday, January 04, 2006. The last of the New Year's Eve Nibbles. 1 cup coarsely grated sharp Cheddar (about 4 ounces). 189; cup all-purpose flour. 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened. 20 small pimiento-stuffed green olives (from a 3-ounce jar), drained and patted dry. Put a rack in the middle of oven and preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Stir together cheese, flour, and cayenne in a bowl. Blend in butter with your fingertips until a dough forms. I had to add water for this to become a 'dough'. I hat...
