Cooking With Gas: November 2011
http://cooking-with-gas.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 16, 2011. Wow, I'm blogging a lot lately! I'm also cooking a lot. Been working from home, so I have more time and energy to putz around the kitchen. FINALLY found a recipe for chai concentrate. I love chai, but I refuse to pay for the overpriced concentrate at the store, and splurging on it at a coffee shop is just an occasional thing (plus, it's always caffeinated at a coffee shop). Here's the link to the original recipe. Yields: 1 batch of concentrate, approximately 4 cups. Remove t...
Cooking With Gas: March 2011
http://cooking-with-gas.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 23, 2011. Penne with Roasted Red Pepper, Ricotta, and Sausage. One of my brother's former college roommates is a chef, and he's writing a cookbook. He asked for volunteers to help him test some of the recipes, and I volunteered, knowing it would be a challenge. It's not that the recipes are hard, it's that part of the deal is that you have to follow the recipes exactly. Which I've already read. Cover to cover. Not much of a plot. 6 oz fresh ricotta. 1 lb penne pasta. 2 Tbsp vegetable oil.
Cooking With Gas: chocolate covered peppermint marshmallows
http://cooking-with-gas.blogspot.com/2011/11/chocolate-covered-peppermint.html
Tuesday, November 15, 2011. Chocolate covered peppermint marshmallows. Then I dipped them in the chocolate. Wow. Wowy wow wow. The recipe is sort of long, (but they're not hard, it's just wordy) so I'm just going to give you a link. And pray they never take the recipe down. I topped them, while the chocolate was still liquid, with some more crushed peppermints (I crushed them using a mortar and pestle, by the way). I don't know if it added to the flavor, but it looks pretty. Videos that make me smile.

So much easier than making salad dressing fresh each time, and so much more yummy than store-bought! Also, is there anything mason jars can't do? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Videos that make me smile. Balsamic Vinaigrette in a JAR! Metaphysics and other such. Wisconsin and other exotic places. There was an error in this gadget. Love and Olive Oil.
