Orange Cake - Baking with Sapana

The baked journey begins. 1 cup Cake Flour. 1 teaspoon baking powder. 1 teaspoon baking soda. 1 teaspoon orange zest. 1 teaspoon orange extract. 1/4 cup walnuts , chopped (optional). 1/4 cup yoghurt , beaten. 1/2 cup unsalted butter. 1/2 cup orange juice. 3/4 cup castor sugar. 1 1/2 cup icing sugar. 2 tablespoon orange juice. A drop Food color. Preheat the oven at 180 degrees and grease and dust a 9 " or 10 " round pan. Take sifted cake flour , baking soda , baking powder and salt in a bowl and set aside.

Shake and tap the sides of the pan to release air bubbles.

Theme , I have prepared this pressure cooker cake that I have recently bookmarked from Sharmispassions. I tried a pressure cooker cake for the first time and it came out very well . It surely is a keeper recipe. So let's start the recipe yum. Next time when you are craving for a cake and doesn't have oven you can surely bake this cake in pressure cooker. 1/2 cup castor sugar.

For the basic chocolate sponge cake I had followed the recipe that I learned from Gayatri's Space. 2 recipes Chocolate Sponge Cake. 500 g Whipped Cream. 2 cup canned mixed fruits. 1/4 cup glazed Cherries. 1 /2 cup Chocolate Shard/Gratings. 1 teaspoon Silver Sprinkles. Prepare 2 chocolate sponge cake as per instructions in my previous post.

Coming back to my recipe , I have added lemon pickle recipe a few months back that was simple pickle with less spices and no oil. I want to prepare different one and was searching a recipe with more spices and oil , found this exotic recipe here. It's extremely lip smacking and finger licking just like store bought . We are in the third week of BM#55 and my theme for the week is recipes from the French cuisine.Since I am busy in cooking for next month mega marathon ,I was looking for some simple recipes for this week.The first day recipe is Chocolate mendiants that I bookmarked from Suma's blog. These chocolate discs are so easy to assemble and heavenly in taste. 1 cup dark chocolate/choco chips. 1/2 cup nuts and dried fruits,chopped. Line a baking tray with aluminium foil.
