Cook with Sara: Fruited Pork and Veggie Kebabs

http://cookwithsara.blogspot.com/2009/05/fruited-pork-and-veggie-kebabs.html

Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Fruited Pork and Veggie Kebabs. I love making kebabs for the grill. This is a new recipe, and I thought it was a great change of pace from my usual chicken, pepper, squash combination. You'll need to plan ahead with this recipe - the meat and vegetables need to marinate for at least 8 hours or overnight. So you can assemble the parts the night before you'll cook it, or the morning of. Here's what it looks like! Whisk the marinade well to dissolve the honey. Put pork cubes in a ...

Cook with Sara: Cherry Zucchini Muffins

http://cookwithsara.blogspot.com/2011/08/cherry-zucchini-muffins.html

Monday, August 29, 2011. Here's a great way to use some of your garden's abundance of zucchini, along with one of the summer's best fruits! And in a muffin no less - my favorite way to eat breakfast. These get a nice healthy boost from the fruit and vegetable in addition to whole wheat flour. And, as usual, they passed the taste test with my colleagues - a very discerning group of foodies. Set that aside and combine the brown sugar, sugar and milk in a large mixing bowl. And the zucchini,. Made from Scra...

Cook with Sara: Bananas Foster Bread

http://cookwithsara.blogspot.com/2012/03/bananas-foster-bread.html

Monday, March 12, 2012. Banana bread is so good. I like it "plain" but I've made a few varieties: with molasses and oatmeal. And this is another great option if you ever want to "doctor up" the perfectly delicious banana bread. It takes a few extra steps, but it's totally worth it for the depth of flavor in this variety. Start by melting the butter in a small saucepan then adding the brown sugar. Bring this mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 3-4 minutes. Then set aside to cool.

Cook with Sara: Banana Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting

http://cookwithsara.blogspot.com/2015/07/banana-cake-with-peanut-butter-frosting.html

Monday, July 6, 2015. Banana Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting. I love finding new ways to use up ripe bananas. We eat a lot of bananas at our house, but we never seem to eat all of them before they become over ripe. That is never a crisis for me - there are lots of great options including scones. For every link I included, there are probably three more recipes on this blog alone! All hail the overripe banana! Find more great stuff at Tasty Tuesday. Banana Cake with Peanut Butter Frosting. 1 1/2 cups sugar.

Cook with Sara: Black Forest Freezer Pie

http://cookwithsara.blogspot.com/2010/08/black-forest-freezer-pie.html

Friday, August 13, 2010. Black Forest Freezer Pie. Without a/c, it is really too hot to cook but I suffered through making this no-bake pie so that you could get the recipe! This calls for making a graham cracker crust that needs to be baked, but since I am not turning on the oven, I used a store bought crust, and I used chocolate to boost up the chocolate to fruit ratio! I think it would be even better with an oreo crust, but I think that an oreo crust makes anything better. Then spoon it into the crust.

Yes, its a bit dusty in here and in my house. A Friday of summer. Thursday, June 26, 2008. Its amazing that summer finally got here after such a cold winter and then a gorgeous April which then was followed by a miserable May. The weather reports at the end of May said we only had about 5-8 days without rain during that month. What is this, Seattle? A Friday of summer.
