Announcing our Fall Meat CSA. July 25, 2011. Here’s a nice big annoucement: we are starting a Fall Meat CSA program. Here’s the brochure. This is a trial run to see how much I enjoy running a CSA. We are asking for a four-month commitment. Every month, you’ll come to pick up your share at our farm. You share will consist of 1 incredibly delicious pasture-raised chicken, five pounds of our grass fed beef and five pounds of our forest-finished pork. Again, here is the brochure. December 15, 2014. I got a new job! I’m now the Livestock and Pasture Manager at Hampshire College. I’m very excited about the transition, but it does mean there are some big chnages afoot at Mockingbird Farm. We’re no longer attending farmer’s markets, no longer raising pigs, and no longer raising chickens for meat or eggs. We’re keeping our beef herd, though! We will be selling yearlings for people to finish and a few finished animals to be sold as halves and quarters. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
Free Range Eggs | Mockingbird Farm
http://mockingbirdfarmma.com/products/free-range-eggs
We have a wonderful flock of laying hens. They day range on pasture, supplementing their organic ration with bugs, spent grains from a local brewery, plants, sunshine, and fresh air. At night they sleep in their fancy winn-egg-bagos. We move their trailers every few days to allow them access to fresh pasture and to allow them to spread their fertility more evenly. People often ask us what breeds of laying hen we raise. The quick answer is: a lot! You can find our eggs at area farmer’s markets. They free ...

CSA | Mockingbird Farm

Shareholders benefit because when they use their Share Card, they pay 50 cents per pound less than the regular price. Shareholders will also receive regular updates about what cuts are available and priority when availability is limited. We benefit because we get payment closer to the time when we incur feed and slaughter costs, and we can better plan our production schedule. Pastured Chickens | Mockingbird Farm
http://mockingbirdfarmma.com/products/pastured-chickens
Our chickens are raised from day one with flavor in mind. They are fed an organic ration and are given constant access to fresh pasture. They get plenty of sunshine, bugs, and grass. These birds get to act like chickens, scratching and foraging and it shows in their flavor. This year we are raising Kosher Kings. They are considered a slow growing meat breed, taking on average ten weeks to mature. The slower growth rate promotes a healthy bird which leads to a better flavor. May 11, 2011 at 1:54 pm.

This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:. I’m a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my blog. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And gettin’ caught in the rain.). 8230;or something like this:.
