Find out what i'm getting up to! Tuesday, 1 November 2011. We've spent the morning wandering around la paz, photos to follow! The altitude still makes you feel knackered walking up any sort of incline. La paz itself is another noisy, diesel fume smelling city, but it has a certain charm. Find out what i'm getting up to! Saturday, 29 October 2011. I've just returned from staying overnight with a local family at Lake Titicaca. It was a great experience, their lives are very simple. This morning we helped them plough the fields with two bulls, and planted potatoes and wheat. Tomorrow we leave for La Paz, a mere 8 hour bus trip. We said goodbye to our fellow travellers today . some are continuing through Bolivia and Brazil, others are going home. We made a lot of friends during this first tour and it was sad to say farewell to them. . We're now installed in the Ritz All Suites hotel for the next 3 nights . luxury @ £30 pppn! We've had two dogs in the past but I couldn't describe either as adjustable! And finally, I drilled out some holes and made some more dogs out of oak dowels, with spring fittings made from a wire coat hanger. I ripped a length of the mahogany and gradually converted it into slim pieces to work with, by carefully hand sawing down the plank. I then planed the pieces flat until they were about 12mm and 8mm. I then made myself a dovetail template out of an offcut of mahogany . I cut the pieces required for the sides and base of the caddy . My first ever dovetail joint .
