Crafty Desires: Sewing Weekend

http://crafty-desires.blogspot.com/2012/08/sewing-weekend.html

Saturday, August 25, 2012. I'm sewing a Peasant Skirt from the Portabellopixie. I'm going with some beautiful Pear Tree by Thomas Knauer. Fabric from Hawthorne Threads. It's one of my favourites. I do have a bit of a pin addiction when it comes to ruffles though. I may have to seek help about this one day. The resulting skirt will be used as a demo for the customs of this skirt I will be offering on my Facebook Page. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Brisbane, Sunny QLD, Australia.

Crafty Desires: Dye Techniques: Space Dye in a Circle

http://crafty-desires.blogspot.com/2012/07/dye-techniques-space-dye-in-circle.html

Sunday, July 29, 2012. Dye Techniques: Space Dye in a Circle. I've decided to document the different techniques I've used dyeing yarn in my time. Usually I don't stick to the same technique for an extended period, so I've tried many many different ways so far. All wrapped up and ready to go. I place it on my microwave tray where it was dyed. Again, trying very hard to keep the colours from touching. During the cooking, the glad wrap can melt onto itself and if yarns of different colours are touch...Micro...

Crafty Desires: One sleeve Leotard

http://crafty-desires.blogspot.com/2014/01/one-sleeve-leotard.html

Saturday, January 4, 2014. Miss 8 is working on getting her idea for her Jazz costume for next year across to me. So far she's gotten me to make up a one sleeve leotard, now we need to get a 'cutout' done across the belly on one side. So, this is the leotard. It's done from a pattern from an etsy seller tumblentwirl. Her patterns are great for dance wear, affordable and easy. I have many of her patterns. Here is the darling looking beautiful 3. Crafty Desires: New Adventures, New Passions, New Beginnings

http://crafty-desires.blogspot.com/2014/01/new-adventures-new-passions-new.html

Friday, January 3, 2014. New Adventures, New Passions, New Beginnings. It's been a long 13 months since I've touched this blog. In that time, I have gotten a part time job outside the home, my children have grown and I've discovered some new crafting loves. My middle two daughters have discovered dance and as a follow on, I have discovered sewing dance wear. Funnily enough, the one I have released was a ballet wrap! Here is a jazz skirt I made, modelled by Miss 8. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Crafty Desires: Frankenskein Part 2

http://crafty-desires.blogspot.com/2012/11/frankenskein-part-2.html

Thursday, November 1, 2012. Nowhere near as bad as I was imagining. Infact, it's quite nice. Somewhere inside I am hoping the recipient doesn't really like it and I can keep it. I know this is not going to happen however. Here is the Frankenskein in as-dyed skein format:. In the centre at the top there is a darker patch, directly opposite that is a lighter patch. You can't really see it very well. Here is a close up shot, but I don't think you can see it here either. And here is reskeined:. Pinterest gar...

My world to share with you. Monday, June 13, 2011. Eek - 2m later. Haven't been very regular with my blog. In fact I haven't been reading many blogs at all lately, so maybe thats why the motivation got up and left. Life is OK. Kids are fine, I am fine, Shane is fine, Baby is fine. Kiwi Fi's World: How to achieve balance

http://kiwifisworld.blogspot.com/2011/04/how-to-achieve-balance.html

My world to share with you. Tuesday, April 5, 2011. How to achieve balance. It never ceases to amaze me how hard it is to make the right. Decision. From lifestyle choices to what we eat and drink, it seems that its almost impossible to be perfect. What matters for one family doesn't seem so important for others, so as parents we all walk this tight rope of trying to do the best for our children. High fat or low? Buy milk from the farm gate - unpasteurised perhaps? Do you give your kids juice - organic or...

Knit Glob: Time to Knit!

http://knitglob.blogspot.com/2010/11/time-to-knit.html

Obsessive ramblings of a knit addict. Monday, November 01, 2010. Some health issues lately have meant that I have had a heap of time for knitting, and starting and even finishing some things! I finally finished my Aeolian Shawl. Frustratingly, the photos don’t even SHOW the beads, but TRUST ME they are there! This was knit in Knit Picks Gloss Lace in the Raisin colourway and I used 1.5 skeins (about 660m). I totally lost track of how many packets of beads I used - maybe about 5 packets of 6gms? The blog ...

Knit Glob: I love Noro!

http://knitglob.blogspot.com/2011/06/i-love-norohttp2bpblogspotcom.html

Obsessive ramblings of a knit addict. Wednesday, June 22, 2011. I’m always surprised by how Noro. The knots, I am not so fond of, but found in my last project, which took 19 balls of Noro, probably only 4 balls that contained knots at all! A very low hit rate! So here is my latest and greatest Noro project; The Noro Paintbox Log Cabin. A brilliantly simple, yet effective way to maximise the best of Noro. It is gorgeous, and now youve got me thinking about how exactly you did join it all together. Beautif...

Knit Glob: January 2010

http://knitglob.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html

Obsessive ramblings of a knit addict. Saturday, January 02, 2010. I love early January, when we look back at what we accomplished in the past year. It's a bit of a knit-blogging tradition I think, to assess what we achieved and plan for the upcoming year. For me, 2009 was the year of the shawl. Knitting a triangular shawl was one of my goals for myself in 2009. I made far less socks than I have in the last 2 previous years, this year only finishing 7 pairs! Goals for 2010 include:.

Knit Glob: Hi Blog!

http://knitglob.blogspot.com/2011/01/hi-blog.html

Obsessive ramblings of a knit addict. Monday, April 04, 2011. Poor neglected blog. I’ve tried several times to write an interesting and entertaining blog post in the past 5 months, but nothing has been forthcoming. Even the annual end-of-year wrap-up and review post for 2010 was missed (Actually I started it and it’s still sitting cold and lonely in my list of drafts). Of course there have been other things being made, but today it’s all about the socks. They are all gorgeous! Theyre all beautiful socks ...

Knit Glob: The rest of the vests

http://knitglob.blogspot.com/2010/07/rest-of-vests.html

Obsessive ramblings of a knit addict. Wednesday, July 28, 2010. The rest of the vests. As promised, here are the rest of the vests! The first is knit in Jo Sharp Classic 8 ply and the pattern is Ms. Marigold. Long time readers might remember that way back in 2007. I made this same vest in the same yarn. Jacki did also. I'm very happy with it, and it does work up so very quickly. Lovely vests. I knitted a fair isle vest once and after sewing in all the ends, I decided that I will not knit one again. Confe...
