CRAFTY DIANE: September 2011

http://craftydianed.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html

Tuesday, September 13, 2011. Have you ever noticed the seed pod on a Magnolia Tree after the blooms all fall off? I hadn't until recently. There are a couple of Magnolia Trees at the nursing home where my Daddy is. The past few days I have noticed the pods with red berries on them. I figured it must be seeds and not berries. Today I pick one off the tree. Following are some pictures I took of it. The red color is beautiful! I have always loved Magnolia Trees. CHRISTMAS RED DROP BLOSSOMS - $20. These are ...

Tuesday, December 20, 2011. Felt, Sequins, Beads and Louisiana. Long time no see! It has been awhile since I have been on here. I tell myself that I am going to post more often but then time just seems to fly by in between my post. I have been keeping busy. First I want to show you a picture of my cactus. I keep calling it a Christmas Cactus but really it must be a Thanksgiving Cactus as it blooms right around Thanksgiving. First thing I made was this beautiful redbird pin. The picture does not do it...

Down By The Creek: May 2009

http://creatingbythecreek.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

Down By The Creek. Although i haven't had a response from my swap partner i think enough time has passed for me to reveal the cushion i made. It is looking a little flat here, as it would without a cushion insert, but this is how i sent it. It is however machine quilted. I was very happy with how the finished cover looked and learned a few new tricks on my sewing machine along the way. Links to this post. It's nice to be spoilt occassionally. I hope you are having a day as lovely as mine. I still haven't...

seamless + symmetrical | Sarah London

https://sarahlondon.wordpress.com/2009/08/10/seamless-symmetrical

Today I’m going to demonstrate, step by step, a technique to achieve a seamless join when crocheting in the round. This technique achieves an almost invisible join. As you can see in the photo below you can see the placement of each join. It’s very unattractive! Instead of ending each round in the traditional way,. Ie: slip stitching into the top of the beginning 3 ch,. Which produces ‘gaps’ and a visible join,. 8216;ll show you how to produce a neat, invisible join. It’s easy, so lets get started! Draw ...
